So if NCT debut a new unit, does that unit count as 4th Gen? Therefore NCT will be the only 3rd and 4th gen group?
Well, I do consider WayV 4th gen, they debuted on 2019 and only WinWin and maybe Ten (he had very few activities) had been active on NCT before the Empathy era on 2018. And 3 of their members just directly debuted with WayV.
NCT as a brand will be 3.5 gen forever but if they really keep debuting groups and members over the years they would hardly be considered a 3rd gen group. Also imagine NCT Dream which debuted on 2016 but they don't even have a full album, and their ages are pretty much those of SKZ, Ateez, TxT or any 4th gen group, they have a big ass future on this gen. Like if you think about it, Dream's and 127's content, achievements and all will be like 80% on 4th gen but they will be always considered 3/3.5 gen. It's interesting no doubt.
