It's already turned into something that it should not be and that is why these comments have been moved here. So no.

shouldn't you have said something for derailing the thread? I was actually trying avoid the political thing other than her speech about mental health and making into another thread it's much worse because it only focus on that it takes away her good intention

    1. People are free to comment, but if they are going to make it about politics, I'm going to move it to the right forum

    2. All this back and forth is doing is raising the profile of this thread. Go comment in the other one! Let this die it's own death.

EDIT: I'm in the process of changing the title to reflect that this really isn't about Rosé - that part I agree with

  • America has been involved in so much bs and have supported the worst.

And that's fine because that's how USA is. I guess?

Good thing is that I've always had an issue with it and I've already voiced my opinion on the forum multiple times. no double standard on my side

Changed the title of the thread from “[enter-talk] I CAN'T BELIEVE ROSE GAVE A SPEECH AFTER BEING INVITED BY THE FIRST LADY TODAY...ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ” to “No one should be proud of being invited by Biden”.

    Than your good.

But in all seriousness, the speech had nothing to do with the current conflict and if y’all got a problem with the Biden administration and how they handle the situation, make a Thread about it or post it in the already existing Threads about this topic.

To use Rosé speech to address this issue makes it seem like she is somehow involved, which she is not, this whole situation has nothing to do with Rosé.

Her speech had absolutely nothing to do with the current conflict and was for a good cause. This was unfair.

If you feel it’s hypocrite for the First Lady to organize an event about mental health etc fine. But the Thread started by antagonizing Rosé for doing something great.

  • I changed the title to take Rosé out because I agree that this thread of conversation had little to do with her and her speech. I have no problem with discussing any issues users have with the Bidens and their involvement with the politics of war, but we don't need to be dragging idols into it if they are not taking stances/making speeches about said war.

  • True. Biden and his administration are financing israel and are directly involved in genocide in gaza, being invited by his wife isn't something to be proud of.

Bts or Rose, they were invited, gave some speech about topics unrelated to any war. Biden or not, any American president would directly fund Israel, that's their politics. America has been funding wars before, during and after Biden, so if we go by this logic it is really never the right time to have a speech in White House.

~ Retired exol, don't ask me about that group. ~

  • And like I said, nothing new.

He's not doing anything remotely different from previous administrations, so I don't see why it should be viewed differently. It's just as prestigious for Rosie now as it was for idols in past.

Yes, I don't understand how it was prestigious for other idols but it is a shame for Rose. Why ones can accept invitation but she can't?

If we are gonna call them out then call all of them out. Doing it this way just feels nitpicky and disingenuous. Idols never really talked about any wars or were involved in any serious politics anyway, we never expected anything from them anyway.

I'm lazy to search my posts but i said the same about bts. Nobody should accept invitation from politicians. Let me talk about locally. Would you be proud if your fave accepted vučić's invitation? I would be extremely disappointed and lose respect for them

Tbh I doubt I would care all that much, especially as my favs have already been called to some of these conferences. I don't care all that much. I don't look deeply into this, but I don't see it as brag material either. Like should I care that after every medal our athletes have to shake their hands with our president and do they look less in my eyes? No, not really. It gets eye roll from me.

And btw that wasn't jab specifically to you, but to some people who I saw praising their favs (here or pannchoa or on twitter or on reddit) for speaking in White House or different events like UN and suddenly have problem with Rose. American goverment never stopped killing people so concern of some people here just looks... fake and hypocritical. Sorry but that's just how I feel. Especially with Rose speech basically being... nothing.
