Fresh out of high school, Shohei Ohtani publically asked that no Japanese club draft him as he wanted play in the MLB. Nippon Ham decided to shoot their shot anyway. Kuriyama delivered a detailed presentation to a resistant Shohei showing him their vision for his development and trajectory. As it was a long ass presentation delivered with heart, Shohei started to pay attention. What ended up being the decisive factor was the fact that Nippon Ham wanted to let him try being a two-way player professionally - had he signed with a MLB club from the jump he most certainly would have had to give up either hitting or pitching. He would still likely be one of the best hitters or pitchers. But not THE goat as ppl see him today.

#KeepKpopKorean might work if like Kuriyama, you can convince top groups AND their companies that they should forgo the biggest market because they have better $$ and career prospects domestically.

There’s nothing like wanting your favs to strive for mediocrity and not leverage the growing U.S market to achieve maximum success & financial security for themselves and their families.

Just admit you are selfish and that your K-pop journey is more about you instead of the vitality of your favorite K-pop groups/idols.

Also, it’s comical that your favorite idol of all time is U.S. born who appears to enjoy spending a lot of time in her native country.
