Its natural NewJeans is being compared to BlackPink and Twice now… the current gen just cant keep up

globally: new jeans is ahead of its 4th gen peers, both girl groups and boy groups.

Twice has about 4.8 million daily streams. I don’t think New Jeans is really anywhere close honestly to BP in popularity they are just new. Also BP and Twice both had to build this entirely. NJs was basically thrust into international recognition from the get go. Whereas Twice and BP both had already released their biggest hits before Spotify even became big for Kpop and before Kpop had truly gone international. I’m that way I think comparing any group these days to 3rd gen groups doesn’t really work. The game is so different from when Twice and BP debuted.

If Ive is so irrelevant why tf do yall keep bringing them up them in every thread about njs? The obsession is real. Learn from dives who dgaf about competition and will hype their faves either way

Well allegedly, XG is part of the Y2K trend, which goes for NewJeans as well, which makes Dives hate them as well

Then there’s NewJeans at 8.7m, but they have a recent release and Super Shy is still pulling 2 million daily on its own.

And then there’s IVE. WITH their recent release they have only 2m streams daily. Super Shy alone is outstreaming IVE’s entire discography.

It wouldnt honestly be fair to compare NJ to any group other than BlackPink. I’m not delusional in thinking they’ve truly surpassed them, but i do think that NewJeans’s first album will far outsell BlackPink’s next, especially after this little LOL bump.

Btw i didnt look up Twice’s because i respect them too much to drag them and compare them outside of their prime streaming
