Newjeans makes tranquilizers not music. Where is the fun factor? Where is the slightest hint of human emotion? Everything is so detached with zero inventiveness musically to make up for it.
Kpop rap is literally what makes Kpop 100x better than almost everything else out there, plus EDM drops are entertaining af.
TBH the only recent non Kpop songs that i would put at or above Kpop as a genre are a few awesome Nicki and Doja rap songs, a random assortment of other songs i've heard but cant remember the titles or singers lol, and the best of them all - emo ballads from the likes of Clarkson, Gaga, Adele, Halsey and the greatest of them all Olivia Rodrigo.
This is the best song i've heard in local music since Adele/Olivia last comebacks.
Kpop did great trying to emulate Olivia with songs like Lamppost by LSRFM and Wash Away by Yena, but Olivia is just a tier above everyone right now.

i know most kpop fans prefer very upbeat music but i love newjeans for their chill and atmospheric music.
they have the perfect songs to listen too when you're doing something and it just adds some extra joy into my day.
it also doesn't overstimulate me and i feel like a lot of music tends to do that for me, so it actually helps with my anxiety...

music is subjective and varies for people's tastes yes new jeans is popular, currently and their music is geared towards their age range, but it does nothing for me. I listen to some gg songs and I like the darker type, like aespa girls, dreamcatcher scream.
However, am strictly a bg fan and speaking in general terms as someone who follows over 30 groups and 20 soloists, their music is NOT the best in 3rd OR 4th gen. This is based on your personal preference (op) just like my disagreement is based on MY personal preferences. Hype the group as you wish but I disagree that they are better..
Vav, sf9, up10tion, vixx, a.c.e just to name a few are some amazing 3rd gen artists..
Ateez, bz-boyz, trendz, xodiac, luminous, ghost9, verivery are some amazing 4th gen artists.
You guys should really expand your musical interests beyond the top 4 companies.
sure I like some groups that aren’t from big4 but most of those groups just aren’t for me. Many people try listening to other groups but end up just not being interested. Agree with first part tho, it’s subjective

4th gen gg just make good music overall than 3rd imo they have many banger even from smaller company, but for me IVE have released the best music so far in 4th gens.
They have yet release a title tracks that I dislike. I don't think I need to explain Eleven, Love Dove and I AM as it was well received by many people. However, After LIKE is such a fun song, and I still don't understand why people dislike Kitsch. It was better than I AM imo. Not to mention their I WANT is such a bop as a CM song.

loud and wrong. Le Sserafim is making the best music - Took Antifragile for example, they're what kpop need, there is nothing sound like Antifragile in kpop before!

but i can say that nwjns is releasing REALLY good music but to say that its the best out of everyone... depends on your taste.
for me, i'd rather have upbeat songs like lesserafim's entire disco which is why i like them, same with twice.
