I said big portion are probably bg stans. GG stans are generally pretty open to listen anything by any gg, but I have seen some people that barely comment on any gg thread are very active in NewJeans threads.

The way that KOL came out with individual videos just like New Jeans, the promotional rollout was almost identical.

The way the videos all kinda tell a story and feature love interests, including foreign ones, all of which was almost unheard of in GG Kpop until NJ broke that barrier last year. Also KOL was filmed in Spain just like NJ debut i think.

The music being very similar, all RnB edgy with a hip hop twist.

The choreo being more loose and hip hoppy esp Ditto and OMG instead of being hyperstructured point dance.

Before New Jeans came out, when was the last time you saw a GG music video that featured full fledged story arcs with love interests? I feel like those all disappeared when 2nd gen ended.

There's more then just those 2, it's good there's more of em.

There’s influence sure, but none of that equals “carbon copy” to me. It’s clear that you don’t really get NewJeans, and there’s plenty of evidence of that

Sidae does not present himself as the founder and no official documents list him as it either.
