I think so.
kpop idols especially from the 1st and 2nd generation, came from poor family backgrounds, while nowadays it's practically normal that idols, especially from the Big 4 companies have a rich or at least stable background.
They don't need to be desperate as idols in the past since even when this path don't go well, they still have a nice future ahead.
like back then, kpop trainees looked so eager to learn and improve and give the best performances...plus the fact that most of the trainees in the past was again, poor, that just added to the sincerity of their stories.
nowadays being an idol has become a trend among rich kids.
like you can already tell that the current trainees are rich and has everything they need and are debuting as idols just to live the celebrity life.
