So many younger male Kpop artists literally look up to him. It’s fans who don’t appreciate him because in general kpop fans, especially international ones, don’t care for soloists.
Also he starred in Full House, one of the classic kdramas that pushed the hallyu wave back in the early 2000’s.
He is King! JYP’s ugly ass can go somewhere. He could never!

Oh my God. I should have mentioned her to you.
She's widely considered the most beautiful Korean woman. Or has often been referred to as that for a long time since she was young.
She's one of my favorite actresses.

You know what..I do see Rain as a major influential male-solo performer in “contemporary” K-Pop history. I can’t think of many of his peers, if any, with the same level of “star quality”. The main reason I don’t see Rain as the “Usher of K-Pop” is because of his catalog..not of the best quality to be canon to me.
I feel the same way about Hyori Lee..an “anomaly” in terms of aura and appeal..she just didn’t have a strong catalog either.

I mean not very many “soloists” in Korea have strong catalogues in general. I prefer is older stuff and the R&B sound in Kpop was pushed by him before artists like Taeyang became popular.
Not sure why people would say he is not relevant when upcoming kpop artists or even groups from 2nd gen onwards look up to him and still look to his dance/music style for inspiration.
His song Bad Guy/Man is literally still referenced to this day which was released 20+ years ago. Lolol.
During his time it was him vs Se7en vying for the top male artist of Korea. And we all know who stood the test of time….
