What made you realize you were no longer interested/in love with a group?

  • I'm not talking like a group did something wrong and you rightfully dropped them, but just gradually losing interest in them. I mean I'm a fairly new K-pop fan and when I started I was definitely a multi-fan. I loved Seventeen, TXT, TNX, Purple Kiss and TripleS and was convinced I would stan them for life. That was later proved false when I opened my playlist to listen to my K-pop songs and realized the only songs I liked on there were from SKZ, XH and Kep1er. I was really sad bc it felt bad to lose interest in them and not be able to enjoy their music as thoroughly thanks to it.

What is your experience with this?

  • Pretty similar to you, but a lot of my groups faced disbandments / hiatus's or forever hiatus's and constant members leaving (like the original line up for 24K for example). BLACK6IX. BAP. 1TEAM. Wanna One.

Nine Percent. (Chinese Group that had a short contract). D Crunch. TRCNG.

For the other three groups I was a fan of 2017 - 2019, then all the sudden all of these groups just got so popular and the fandom is no longer what they were. They are unfortunately now known for their toxicity, and I wish we could go back, 2017 - 2018 was the perfect time in those fan bases. But it just got overwhelming to me. And a lot of fans said I was a bad fan for focusing and helping Nine Percent.

I had a fanbase 'union' account for them, and during the show I reminded people to vote for their picks, and to write letters to them. As the letters often got read as they were translated to Chinese for the members by the staff. And stuff.

Not to mention how OmegaX, TRCNG or BAP was treated. That just made me uneasy about a lot of things.

  • if they disbanded....if they have been in the dungeon for over 2 years talking to you noir

or if their music went in a direction that's not to my tastes and continues in that direction...

those are the reasons i stopped liking a group

NOIR deserved better for sure. The members are so kind to, often hearting fan comments and often updating about what's going on. (Well updating us more then LUK ever did 😅)

  • I still want to like MAMAMOO, but don't have the same enthusiasm for them anymore.

They had a time with lots of solo releases. Especially Wheein had quite I few I found boring.

Then their group comebacks weren't as fun either, so I gradually drifted off.

Still wish them well and wouldn't rule out that I get back into them.

  • When their sound change and i just don't find myself enjoying their songs az much than i did

I dropped Seventeen after " don't wanna cry" when they stoped doing fun and catchy concept and decide to go on the more mature serious sound

I just couldn't enjoy their song anymore

Same for TXT, i loved everything they did until their comeback after Lover = Loser

Then they dropped their more teen concept

For a more badass concept for good boy gone bad i hated the song so much and i didn't even care to watch their last comeback, that's the moment i understood it's a BG who doesn't interest me

And same for Infinite, they were my first BG to stan but they were a 2nd gen group with a very distinctive sound

Sadly they were also active during 3rd gen, and they had to adapt to the new trend and sound and i wasn't a fan

Mamamoo too, i'm not really interested in their solo beside Hwasa, and they did a lot of solo activities for a long time

And when they announce their comeback i wasn't really hyped and i didn't like it as much than i used to do

    Yes, exactly.

I understood that they all got a solo, but then they just kept doing solo songs and to be honest, I didn't like most of them.

I became a fan because of their songs, but also because I loved their interactions as a group. That gradually faded for me.

Honestly i don't know how to say it

But when members do solo stuff

I have a harder time seeing them as a group because know you can see what they like and what is their sound

Because i'm always reminding of their solo career and i'm like " oh no this concept is clearly not what moonbyul as an artist like"

So i have a harder time enjoying the song and concept
