Why did none of the RV members solo careers manage to take off?

Because all their solos haven’t been catchy enough and Irene doesn’t have the vocal chops to take off as a soloist

Does Irene & Seulgi count? Cause that project was miles better than any of the solos from both groups, which have all been pretty mediocre

I thought 'hello' by joy was pretty successful. or maybe it wasn't, who knows, but it was a hit in my books. SM doesn't know how to give good solos to RV, for example, with like water, cute song, but nobody moved for that christian ballad, seulgi's 28 reasons...was fine. I don't even remember much of that song except the chorus, but it wasn't enough for k-pop fans to remember. SM is just struggling with RV right now, I don't think they can save them with these lack luster solos. #Sadforem

Can we count Hello since it was a remake of a really famous song? To me thats kinda of cheating just like NCT dream and Candy.

SM debuted Aespa at the time, and from then on mostly invested in making Aespa more popular.

I remember the Joy Hello song stayed in the top 10 in Melon for 2-3 months. If your criteria of success is to be the top 1, of course, then the flop. Wendy's solo won the award for best ballad song. Joy, both her ost and solo, were top nominees in many places. I believe Joy will be even more successful when she releases an album with an original song. Her voice color is gem
