What’s your opinions of 30s male idols/actors dating women in their 20s

  • If my 30s male bias dated a woman in her 20s and younger 7

    1. I wouldn’t care. Adults 18 and over assume full responsibility in their lives (7) 100%
    2. I would unstan (0) 0%

People are speaking up more about it more, but strangely kpop fans are avoiding this question because a lot of their 2nd gen male biases are already in their 30s.

It’s being called out for the imbalance of power, potential for predatory behaviors and grooming. Imagine how many idols debut very young while working alongside much older people in the industry. For example, Joy is in her 20s and she’s dating a 30yo man. Hyeri is in her 20s and is dating a 36yo man. Not to mention these late 20s/30s year old male idols promoting and still trying to get new younger fans.

Would you still stan your 30s male bias if he dated a woman in her 20s or even 18 or 19 year old?

  • On one hand, they're right. Older men do date women way younger than them because they have less world experience than women their same age. And thus easier to manipulate and gaslight women that young because they don't know their situation can be better or worse. But to play devil's advocate and defend men ( :pepe-shame: ) the girls are also consenting adults who wanted or looked for older men to date. It's a two-way street of consenting adults. Whatever the consequences of that fall solely on compatibility.

  • Depends on it

I mean when for example Heechul and Momo were a thing for a hot second I almost was happy for them ... till all the people begun to shit on Heechul for that

Heechul and his fans built a reputation for him that he's just a big fan of girl groups and has a lot of female idol friends with only platonic intentions. Then suddenly he's dating a younger female idol who he was previously making fun of her pronunciation of a language she's still learning. And not to mention certain things he said about underage idols. It wasn't because people suddenly decided to hate Heechul, but they were prevented from saying anything because of all the shields he had previously.

  • no problem
that common dating age gap or couple gap
    among w successful career

    my perception is

    as the male got older

they got more serious in life more into family
and w more stable career /bigger income

w that age it perfect time a man
to date and finding their ideal girl

  • But there is allways issues with it, especially when the age gap is super big

A former member of the JPop-group AKB48 for example recently got married to a guy who is 20+ years older than her and everyone was super super super feeling suspicious about this since the girl was also only like 23 years old and her husband is almost 50

  • there would be a problem if they were in their 30's and dating a 19-18 year old...20 up that's their choice who they wanna date and how old they are and if you have a problem with your bias dating someone who is late 4th gen while they are 2nd gen then thats a you problem

    ah

    I think

    I read that article
it in asianjunkie - jpop section

that is their own life choice
    we can't interfere that..
the girl is already 23 she can have own decision
    especially we as an outsider

  • Most people that I know irl wouldn’t even be bothered by an everyday couple having that much of an age gap and grooming can happen in those situations as well. Why is it such a conversation starter when the people involved are idols?
