Bop or Flop: Bobby - Cherry Blossom

  • it's nice that he's setting an example that he can be married, have kids and still make great music.

Right? I hope he's successful. He's so talented. Not only in front of the mic either. He writes/ composes almost all of not all his solo releases iirc.

I'm glad ikon is staying together too. They're not one of my faves but they do have some great songs.

I'm all for older, mature idols. I hope eventually we can do away with the stigma of age among both idols and fans

Preach it louder. I recently got into MASC who's in their 30's, plus Fave1 who used to be 100% like it's nice to finally see some maturity in kpop.

I just hope up10tion's future is brighter...right now it's just cloudy and i love them so much. At least sf9 already renewed despite enlistment starting.

    I don't know masc or fave1.

I hope up10tion is able to continue. I'm glad sf9 renewed. Yeah, enlistment is a hard time. Minhyuk is leaving in a couple weeks :pepe-puddle:

The one sf9 guy who interacted with kai was adorable. I loved their challenge!

Peak time is evil for this

  • Oh, i hope the change of direction works for them

it's quit hard for KPop-acts who switch to JPop

    Some examples:

    • 2010-2021 boygroup Apeace, they had at the end over 35 members in total but most had left them and so they ended with 8 remaining people. Their member Sihyuk apeared on a Japanese survival show in 2020 and was about to become member of NIK, however when Apeace disbanded Sihyuk also decided to withdraw from NIK before they debuted and most likly went back to Korea after being in Japan for 7 years at that time. The group originaly debuted as KPop-group in Korea with 15 members and in 2011 had been sended to Japan. The group opend up a fancafe in Tokyo where they performed 6 days a week which is why they added more members over time. In 2015 they than disovled the fancafe and new members debuted with the group while some older member went to the army in Korea. After that they decided to travle trought Japan to hold at least 1 concert each month in different prefectures for the fans who can't come to Tokyo. In 2020 a member who was just reffered to as "UK" had his solo-debut and from that time on the group was also on hiatus. Nobody exactly knows what had lead Sihyuk to leave NIK at the same time as Apeace had disbanded cause originaly it was planed for all members of NIK who were in another group at the same time that they could promote with both groups and since Sihyuk was allready living in Japan nobody thought he would leave Japan with his members of Apeace if they would disband. The group themself was actually not that popular in Japan, but the style of their songs and MVs was extremly based on KPop altho they only released Japanese songs from 2011 till 2017 and than from 2019-2020 (In 2018 they released some Korean stuff, and yeah people thought they had left Japan in that time, but I recognized a building from 2 JPop-videos in one of the MVs so they were in Japan). The group was actually a bit weird cause the member had social media accounts yes, but they posted like 2 things and than abbonded their accounts forever. Sihyuk tried to be active on Twitter again when he had joined NIK but as soon eh left the group he abondened his Twitter again.
    • 2021 - (still active, I guess) NIK has Japanese and Korean member and is the winner group of the survival show called G-EGG. Besides the group's leader Gunmin everyone else is not in two different groups since everyone else's former group has disbanded or they were not even in another group before. The guy who found the survival show, a dude called Yonhak, wanted to make the group as popular as possible but thats not quit working for them, it also failed a bit trought the fact that he sended NIK to Korea at their debut where they tried to promote but got mistaken as a "random new unknown KPop-group" which they arn't and only 3 months later they returned to Japan and didn't really promoted there. In 2022 it also got a bit quit around them very fast and in the middle of the year their member Fumiya had announced to leave the group after suffering from depression. nothing happend since than except that Gunmin left for the army and the member of NIK posted a video about how they were missing Gunmin. Now in 2023 some of the Korean members started to work as stageplay actors in Japan together
    • 2008 - (Still active I think) boygroup U-KISS, they were quit successfull and could've made it to be one of the most known KPop-acts these days but they actually never ended up like that even tho some of their very old songs are quit iconic (songs like Stop Girl, Dora Dora,...) but after a lot member changes over the years they begun to only promote in Japan which almost caused their death, since people forgot they exist and many times they just were like "huh U-KISS isn't disbanded? Why do they only promote in Japan?" When Kiseop also had left the group from 2019-2021 he also got a lot hate comments on the web as "failed KPop idol who thinks he can get some relevancy again if he goes on tiktok" after he made an account when he was allready married at that time. And people even thought he was too old for tiktok and just were mean. IDK what happend to most of the former members of the group, but I remember that Kevin had been TV MC for a bit and was for example on "After School Club" for a while and last time I ever heard of him, it was a few years ago when he released a song with former Royal Pirates-member James. And another former member I remember is Jun who now works as actor (It was a bit odd to see what genre he was acting in. I mean shortly after he had left U-KISS he acted in a BDSM-drama o.o ). IDK when even the last release of U-KISS as a group was tho.
    • 2020 - (still active) 3 former members of the KPop-group HALO tried again in Japan after apearing on Produce 101 Japan season 1. They were quit far in the front on the show, but all 3 droped out on personal reasons after Heecheon was the first one to leave the show on his own. After this people made stupid rumors how they most likly left trought getting bullied, but that wasn't true and the producer of the show asked people to stop spreeding such dumb rumors. Later on they debuted with 4 other dudes who were on Produce 101 Japan in the group called Orbit. People really anticipated their debut but time has passed and now almost nobody cares anymore, especially not since 2 of the Korean members are now in the army and despite that Orbit released a new single recently their company didn't released any MVs in a long time for anyone of the company, not even when 3 of the members from Orbit had their solo-debut. And the group is also freaked by now after one of the Japanese members was in a big scandal (His ex acussed Orbit's Tomoaki that he had abused her while he said she was mental unstable)
    • I mentioned Yonhak before, well dude fucked his own career in Japan when in 2020 it came out that he had an illegal gambling scandal and Japanese people told him he should go back to Korean and never come back to Japan
    • There was SIGMA who wanted to debut in 2020 but they literally fucked themself. 2 of the 4 member were Korean. At the day they debuted they didn't had any music to even release despite that they teased an MV on social media. As they debuted they only ran around all CD-shops in Tokyo to talk about a non existent CD but instead of doing it with all members one of the Korean member just ran off and flew back to Korea which made one of the Japanese member write on Twitter "One of our Korean member flew back home to Korea, so I decided to go back to Yokohama and not come back to Tokyo" . The other Korean member than thought just saying he had debuted (even without having published music) would've been enough to get famous and so he (I kid you not) wrote on Twitter he was now waiting for all the fangirls he maybe will have ...at the end they became silent as the 2nd Japanese guy was pissed off from promoting the group all alone without knowing what to do since they had no CDs and not even a single song to show. He even wrote on Twitter how mad he was about the first guy who ran off and even dissed that dude's former KPop-group for being the fault of that, but all he got was people saying "stop dissing his former group, they have nothing to do with it since they disbanded long time ago"

    well ...

    well ...

U-Kiss released Be Good as their final Japan single before stating they were no longer promoting in Japan. Even their japan website is gone.

On January 24, 2022, it was announced that U-KISS has signed an exclusive contract with Tango Music as a three-member group, with former member Kiseop rejoining the group, and Jun leaving.

That release was September of 2021. So the 3 of the remaining members are working on something.

Jun has starred in several dramas. The BDSM (Love and Leashes) one was not his first. He's starred in Imitation, Let me be yoru knight, the BDSM movie and others.
