I have this theory that the one true currency in Kpop is validation, especially if we take validation as the "cure" for insecurity.
And it's obvious that seeking validation is a huge part of kpop fan behaviour, whether that's through attacking other groups/fans/labels, or sasaeng behavior, or endless stan culture and promotion
But I wonder which comes first? Does kpop instill these behaviours, or do less secure people feel more drawn to the kpop fandom?
I do think that companies are very aware of this behaviour and even comment on it from time to time (Heesoo in the "Ditto" MV, encouraging bulk buying, endless PR battles even when discussing company business)
