The primary demographic that Kpop Companies aim for are Minors, that is 19 years and under, they also make up a large number of fans in South Korea.
The Non-Korean fans are mainly supporting the Visuals whether that be the Members, Choreography or the Videotography, it all comes down to something Visual. So it's not uncommon for those Kpop fans to claim Idols as Spouses, Parents, Kids etc.
When you get a collection of those fans you have to expect that maturity is not a default mannerism
