I don’t think Nct U will be affected. That usually happens during the end of year projects and doesn’t really have anything to do with adding members.
They would have 25+ members after NCT Tokyo…. That’s more than enough….

Honestly speaking in way I'm glad the endless members expansion ended because all those new members that were added recently barley brought something new to the table (or we didn't see too much of them) and it seem like Sm had a hard time graduating the members fearing they would anger the fans so putting an end to the system was the best thing to do , but a part of me wanted to see how units from different countiries would look in particular Nct hollywood and Nct arabia .

Because as far I know NCT is inspired by the Japanese group EXILE TRIBE since it's said that Lee Sooman would know a guy known as EXILE HIRO from the company that EXILE TRIBE is signed with (plus both companies have conections to the same Japanese company called Avex where apparently these people first ever met and became friends) and it was said that when Hiro talked to Lee Sooman for the first time, he mentioned what his company is about and talked about EXILE TRIBE and later on when Lee Sooman mentioned NCT for the first time ever it was said by many people that he got the idea from Hiro and that Lee Sooman wanted to make a similiar group. NCT first ever steped out of the OG-concept when they introduced WayV and than made a fixed group out of NCT Dream
In case you don't know EXILE TRIBE -> They are curently 9 groups, 1 subunit, 1 project-group, 7 soloists and a total of 65 member, but 72 member if you count former members to the group. The oldest member right now is 43 yeard old and the youngest is 14. The concept exists since 2011 but the first 2 groups added to EXILE TRIBE debuted way before that (The oldest one is from 2001 and the 2nd oldest from 2010 + there is a 3rd group who re-debuted under a new name in 2012 after they existed from 2005-2007 and originaly had disbanded cause all member joined the first group, so yeah the first and oldest group in EXILE TRIBE had some member changes over the years). They are constantly still adding groups to EXILE TRIBE of which the newest one just debuted in 2023.
People also used to say on Reddit that both groups had so many similarities so changing the concept by stoping to ad more member breaks the entire concept that SM had originaly planed to go with.
Another random funfact: Keito Kimura from EXILE TRIBE's group FANTASTICS knows NCT's Shotaro since both used to visit the same dance class before.
