There re 2 type monopoly in kpop industry

A prime example of someone who has no idea what a monopoly is. A monopoly is when a corporation has a stranglehold on a market and does not allow competition to flourish or have another alternative to said corporation.

Great examples of monopolies:

TicketMaster/LiveNation

The Sims/EA (but the sims 4 reception is allowing for competition)

Kakao Tech Sector

Hybe being a capitalistic vulture does not make them a monopoly when there are still alternatives fans can choose from and competition is still encouraged. Hybe is a business oligarchy where they rely on multiple avenues to produce multiple resources for the main company. Please kpop stans learn the difference. I'm team f#@% Hybe too but the way kpop stans take one word they saw on stan twt and just run with it is high-key annoying.

I think it's because you're allowed to be negative about companies (which I agree with), but being negative about idols is a lot more taboo than it used to be. Naturally, the most fierce discussion will center around where more negativity is tolerated

1) Hybe does not have a monopoly

2) Kakao M does not have a monopoly (just because their parent company have in some sectors doesnt mean they do in music/entertainement)

Hybe isn’t a monopoly. Kpop is a concurrentiel market since there are JYP, SM, HYBE and JYP you can say that Hybe is the leader tough but saying kpop is a monopoly would make people think these other big3 companies aren’t massive.

Like i said before, i think an SM-Hybe-YGE-Naver combo would be much too big and too dominant. I'd rather see a Naver/Hybe/YG/JYP vs SM/Kakao.
