When fx debuted SNSD was already the #1 GG in the nation, when RV debuted fx was already a well seasoned group. IF SMNGG debuts the first half of this year while Aespa is still barely off their rookie phase there might be more direct comparisons and rivalry, especially if the new GG has a top visual. One of the reasons for Aespa's popularity right now is Karina (and to certain degree Winter) visuals. There will be a lot of talk of who's SM's TRUE 4gen female visual representative. I think the stans better wish the next SM GG is more vocal/talent based.

People said the same thing about LE SSERAFIM when NewJeans suddenly appeared - there is room for more than one new SM group as long as they are positioned differently. No, SM does not need one more BlackPink/Itzy clone - but if they come out with something original both aespa and the new group will do fine.

I think it increased to beauty with Aespa and Red Velvet. Red Velvet and Aespa members have prettier faces, all members more baby face. They are not that tall, they are not model type, but I think their facial features are more polite and beautiful. That's why Red Velvet carries every style of concept.
I totally agree. But in kpop fanboys and fangirls only care about visuals. I hope this changes because beauty is not permanent beauty doesn't stay with age but talent and hard work is permanent thing even in kpop.

lfrm and new jeans cases are different though they are both from different subsidiaries of hybe they were always planned to debut they were talks about it for a while. I don't think is the same with what SM is trying here imo
