SMTOWN Live - SMCU Palace New Year’s Concert news

SM has finally posted updates about the New Year’s concert. Once again (I think this is the 3rd year?), SM will host a free concert across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. The concert will feature all the active groups from the company plus combo performances from the current winter album and usually a few other surprises.

This is a looooong show, y’all, but pretty neat. I hosted a watch party last year and it was pretty cool to see all the groups I didn’t know much about and combinations of great voices.

Did I mention this is a long show?

Most of these performances were pre-recorded in front of live audiences over the past few weeks, so not as live, raw and immediate as the regular SMTOWN concerts.

I’m super excited to see this big chunk of EXO together again as well as seeing the new WayV song. I think this will be heavily NCT since the sponsors at the bottom of this ad are NCT sponsors (Puma for 127, KB and Penshoppe for Dream).

It really is. It was one of the savviest marketing plays they made. I particularly love the way they tell you on the bottom of the screen who the members are, which is a great way to help newbies who don’t know the groups or people who might know a member but not recognize they go in a specific group.
