I feel bad for Somi. She had two HUGE companies misuse her popularity and the one time she was properly managed it was for a short term contract. She deserves sooo much more and she seems to work so hard at it with no repayment from her companies. Like LOONA seemed like a situation where it escalated and escalated but Somi was just straight up lied to over and over

A 12 person girl group will never get to superstar status in the west, its too big for most people.

Aren't the only kpop soloists that have been truly successful in the West Psy, BTS and Blackpink members (and Psy's case was meme fame)?

So, if Somi achieved true solo fame in the West it would be a first.

Other big names in kpop have tried. IU seems to get it and hasn't even tried. Perhaps it's understandable that Somi hasn't achieved it yet.

Currently, Somi does seem to be the most internationally popular female kpop soloist except for IU, Nayeon, and BP members, but Somi is about 4-8 years younger than them so she has plenty of time.

As for Loona, an 11-12 member group is very unlikely to ever go mainstream in the West, irrespective of management.

Too late for Loona. It is ironical that the member the least appealing to the ifans got to dictate the destiny of the group.

Ennik was truly hurt by the covid thing. She should have left K-O-R-E-A in 2020 and promote in the West, but 2 years had passed without any impact

Somi still made plenty of money. I don't think her situation is comparable to Loona.
