What do you mean?? Its their highest peak in korean charts since debut.
Also just saying..but a song can be an "underperformance" for a group's usual standards but that doesnt make it any less of a hit in general.

Fearless by far it's doing pretty good in term of longevity
While Sneakers is tanking very fast in the chart it's just 4 spot away from Goblin who didn't even enter top 10 in the chart
Unless it's a massive successfull song, mid hit seasonal songs never do good in the long term in the chart sneakers was obv a summer songs and that's why since summer end it's falling down

I actually don't think this is very close.
Sneakers did not peak high enough for this to be a peak versus longevity debate. Their difference in peak UL's is around 60k on Melon which isn't much at all to discern much from.
Fearless is at 2.5m ULs on Melon and Sneakers at 2.2m. With Sneakers already out of the top 100 on Melon and Fearless still in the top 30, that gap will just keep getting bigger.
Internationally it's clearly Fearless as well going by Spotify streams.

when you put it that way, plus the fact that fearless did a lot better than sneakers on spotify, it does seem the answer is obviously fearless. but don’t you think sneakers’s going viral and making a dramatic climb on charts surely helped put it back into this race debate?

Not necessarily - the initial performance of their next release will be a good indicator of the impact Sneakers had so I'm curious to see that.
Anti-Fragile's performance out the blocks shows the impact and subsequently the momentum Fearless bought about.

that’s actually a really good but often overlooked point! there’s a reason most songs that got paks actually don’t perform as well as that artist’s previous release (eg: gidle’s tomboy vs nude, ive’s love dive vs after like, aespa’s next level vs savage, taeyeon’s weekend vs invu, mamamoo’s um oh a yeh vs you’re the best): the paks show the impact of people’s anticipation after a preceding hit song, not the pak song itself, but peeps who have no knowledge of charts keep using paks to start fanwars thinking a song with paks always means bigger hit song than no pak lol. It’s embarrassing for them really
