Between These 3, Who Do You Think Could Be BTS Successor?

  • 1. Trainee A

    2. Stray Kids

    3. TXT

Of course I don't mean achieve everything BTS has, cuz that's a reach.

But who could make it in the west, image and somewhat musically???

Plus the boy group that can do really well on International and Korean charts.

Not just bulk buying album sales either

    Approved the thread.
  • No BGs are getting GP love anytime soon. BTS were in the right place/right time to capitalize on a trend that's kind of run its course.

  • none of them

not only aren't any of them showing the potential bts did - not even in a lot lesser extend - but there is just no demand for them anymore (outside of the kpop bubble). after bts, the world & certainly the west isn't gonna be interested in another kpop group. every other kpop group will be limited to that kpop bubble.

now, if you're just asking for the next big KPOP boygroup (like bb or exo), it's a moot question. txt is already 5y old & while succesful, they have already shown stagnant results. Skz are showing good potential & they'll continu to expand their fandom, but i just don't think they'll reach that top bg status that bb or exo ever reached. last, but not least, trainee A hasn't debut yet, so until they do we can't say anything yet. there's a big chance another kpop bg will raise up suddenly & take that spot.

    TXT are years old💀

Stray kids is 4 years old

Trainee A I think could have the potential, like frfr. Even if its them in a kpop bubble. Still I see them being huge as heck.

My bets out of the 3 is Trainee A to be BTS successors. Far as in them doing well on charts, album sales, and having international appeal. Big hit just need to carry them right image wise

  • none. but, maybe some can be at big bang, exo nct or seventeen level. a new group vying for domestic and global success in both physicals and digitals is hard.

  • ow mistake, read somewhere 5, but it's 3y for txt.

that would actually only accentuate my point. txt is only 3y old & they are already showing stagnant results, while skz are still showing MASSIVE growth each cb. not saying txt is doing horrible, but there's a big difference between those groups.

also, never said trainee wouldn't be big. just said that since they haven't debuted yet, it's pointless to speculate. they could debut & immediately dominate the 4th gen bg scene - not that that is a hard thing to do atm - but we just don't know yet. however, i can almost garantee you now, unless trainee A gets a VIRAL VIRAL hit, they'll only reach exo level of fame (which is very good already). no amount of mediaplay/promoting/managing by hybe will be enough to launch trainee A to even bp level internationally - let alone bts'.

  • I don't think anyone could be a bts successor but I think skz could fill the empty place when all bts join the army, if there is any group that are good performers and can attract an older crowd that's them and also have that parasocial relationship the same way bts has with their fans it's skz

  • Stray Kids. They've been mentioned as the next BTS in nearly every market article recently. They use the next BTS modifier in the JYP 3Q write up.

https://www.inews24.com/view/1538901: Researcher Lee said, "Stray Kids, who are in their 4th year of debut, are already on their way to becoming the next BTS by announcing a dome tour in Japan and a stadium tour in the US next year.

https://news.mt.co.kr/mtview.php?no=2022111515160746132: While HYBE, a competitor, has been stagnant due to the controversy surrounding the enlistment of world-renowned K-pop star BTS, JYP Entertainment is praised for solidifying representative IPs (intellectual property rights) such as SKZ, NMIXX, and NiziU.

SKZ, who showed the most remarkable achievements, showed their spirit when all albums released this year, including the mini-album 'MAXIDENT' released on the 7th of last month, reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. In addition, SKZ plans to hold a stadium performance in the US as the second K-pop boy group after BTS, and the stock market even comes up with the modifier 'next BTS'.

https://www.businesspost.co.kr…=article_view&num=296727: Stray Kids' 'Next BTS', Park Jin-young's 20-year-old wish to enter the US comes to fruition. Lee Ki-hoon, a researcher at Hana Securities, said, “Stray Kids are on their way to be the next BTS with album sales and No. 1 on the Billboard charts.

I think they are the only group right now that has a great chance and they deserve it. Their growth has been insane since debut (no help from company stans). Bang Chan (he’s the oldest in the group, Australian citizenship) doesn’t have to enlist. The next one to enlist is Lee Know who has about 5 or so more years until he has to enlist. 5 years is a long time so they have a chance to dominate especially when the top boy group will be inactive for quite some time. The timing is perfect and it also helps that they already have a super dedicated fandom compared to the rest of the 4th gen boy groups (look at the MAMA votes! they are competing with the top group neck to neck this time compared to last year). I've also seen a lot of armies converting to stays. SKZ also have more than 1 English speaker which helps with promoting in the US. As to Korea, they don’t care about boy groups except for certain groups so if SKZ can achieve BTS’ success in the US, I think Korea will just follow them as a national prestige, etc or even better they can gain more korean fans after their US success. JYP just needs to play their cards right which I’m sure he will since it has been Park Jin Young’s dream for a long time. Remember, nothing lasts forever. No group/artists can be at the top forever. Sorry, my English isn't perfect :D

  • BTS a group from NON-big 3 already won a daesang and scored a national hit like spring day before the US prestige.

  • None, but Stray Kids has the biggest potential to be the "biggest active bg" while BTS in on hiatus

  • These groups should get on how to make a hit song first before speaking about being next BTS lol

GGs have multiple hits and sell million albums as well but they're still far from BTS' status and you think these BGs can replace them?

  • BTS a group from NON-big 3 already won a daesang and scored a national hit like spring day before the US prestige.

    THANK YOU.

Like I have no problem with Stray Kids, but realistically speaking and bias aside, as of right now, all they have is album sales and fans mass streaming their music videos on YouTube.......... That doesn't impress me AT ALL.

Especially when they not even charting on Korean Charts or even entering Billboard Hot 100.

A #1 on Billboard 200 can easily be manipulated by U.S fans, who buy a bunch of album units. Which is what happened in Stray Kids case.

Them gaining 3 million sales isn't impressive when their charting and streaming numbers don't match. Nor does people seem to care about their music apart from their fandom or some kpop stans.

Which is why I think they'll be big, but not BTS big, maybe EXO or something, if that.

TXT I see them being a Got7 big or Seventeen big, same for Enhypen.

TRAINEE A as of now I think has the biggest potential overall. Musically, which I know will be good, and image wise..everything is there.

i don't think you mean it in a bad way, but i don't think you realise how immense bts actually are in the US. not just announcing 4 stadium concerts a few days/week ahead & selling out in minutes while turning whole cities, like LA, into bts town, but also on every other platform. BTS is the MOST STREAMED GROUP (no kpop & no boy group, just group) and #10 MOST STREAMED ACT worldwide on spotify. MOST STREAMED ACT on youtube. They are the MOST FOLLOWED group on almost every platform too. they have performed & won many credible awards at literally every prestigous western award show (AMA, BBMA, grammy,..)- not just in the kpop or metaverse category, but awards like AOTY over TS, Ariana,... they have multiple hot100 #1's, 5 GRAMMY NOMS (something even huge western artists like Selena Gomez don't have),... and i'm missing A LOT.

at this point saying you'll get bts' succes in the US is saying you'll get similar succes as Ariana, JB, Drake, The weekend,... because those are the acts that pull numbers similar to bts.

SKZ have shown a lot of potential & they will get far, but if even bp can't achieve bts' succes in the US after so many years, there is no way skz will.

    TELL EM WAKE UP!!!

Sike nah, but all jokes aside though. Stray Kids would have to change their musical direction if they wanna have a hit in Korea or make noise in the U.S.

They already seem to have a dedicated fanbase, which I know is hard for groups to get, so I applaud them. But again, I see them being a EXO big, just this time with a lot of international fans. Not BTS big.

The only group I could see being BTS successor is Trainee A. Obviously not accomplish as much as BTS, but can follow in their foot steps in certain ways and end up making noise not just international, BUT IN KOREA too.

They just give me that feeling of them being successful, idk why. But my bets on them for sure.
