[PC][theqoo] "HALLOWEEN" BECOMES A FORBIDDEN WORD... DISAPPEARS FROM THE BROADCAST WORLD

Halloween wasn't what caused this. This could have happened on christmas day, on new years, on every other big holiday. The government and police failed in so many levels.

Is this because of the Itaewon incident?

and are they trying to ban the word in Korea?

Seems pretty logical

I don't think its the governments fault, but rather the owner of the building that was illegally worked on as well who worked on that illegal build, they need to be held accountable and charged for their mistake

Isn't it less someone going "ban the word Halloween", but just like all the shows being cancelled, variety and other things delayed, its simply a race to not appear insensitive.

The first person who rushes out their Halloween themed thing after the period of mourning will most likely cop some backlash for appearing insensitive to the victims. We all know what people are like. The mindset of "won't someone think of the children?".

Is it silly? Probably. But it reads far more to me to appear to be self-censoring to avoid some presumed backlash then any sort of direct "ban Halloween" directive.

This is what happens when you elect right-wing regimes. Censorship is their favorite way of avoiding blame and having to uphold their responsibilities to their people's welfare. They're going to make everything about this evil foreign holiday instead of addressing the actual issues, because making themselves look good is more important than fixing past mistakes. Gotta love a good scapegoat!

But this trend is coming from the entertainment industry not the government 🤡🤣. This overreaction is a result of our nation's culture. Unlike the west where life just goes on id something bad happens. Here in Korea and a few other Asian countries, bad things have alot more emphasis placed on them so it's quite common to see the entire country grind to a halt for it including distancing itself from events etc even more so with the kpop industry as people are hyper focused on criticism of idols and actors even over the tiniest insignificant things. So a idol etc doing something during the whole Halloween thing? Would be a career ender on top of the international fan 🤡🤡🤡 who have zero understanding or stake in our country society and culture will come judging when they don't understand half of the context of the situation too🤡🤣 So it makes sense that they are going to this extreme even if it's silly because people are waaaaaay too judgemental of these celebrities so they are forced to take extreme measures

You're placing emphasis on the wrong thing, which does nothing to honor the lives lost or prevent it from happening again. Suggesting otherwise is wholly dishonest. When something bad happens here, life doesn't "just go on," we try to prevent it from repeating. If there was a bombing on Christmas, we wouldn't blame Christmas, we would look at how it happened and make sure it can't happen again (even at the expense of everyone's personal freedoms or convenience.)

The illegal build was that is was wide at the top

but the lower it got, the narrower it became ( i think it was 3.3 meters)

so, it was really narrow at the bottom and when the people were smushed together it was so narrow that they couldn't get themselves unstuck

if the building was normal size with no illegal build, the alley would've been wider, and this incident may have never happened

so, i feel like the building owner needs to be held accountable

the Alley that The people were stuck in was only ( i think) 3.3 meters

it was really narrow, so they ended up getting stuck between each other
