yeah I usually used to think about it, its idol's own right whether to accept or reject it, but idk I just cant take sth from people for free especially knowing that they worked to earn money and gift me that. Also on the other side I dont understand these fans who give expensive gifts when u can invest that money on your own benefit. How much I loved an artist, I wouldnt be sending expensive gifts to millionaires lol

but they don't mind accepting the money they get after fanbases mass buy thousands of albums only to dump them in garbage later on.Massive waste of resources and damage to environment.
Its not much different than fanbases sending gifts to idols, gifts are just more direct way than the indirect route of bulk buying albums.

Depends on the idol though. If you're a nugu or mid, you're not making THAT much money yet, a luxury gift is something you probably cant regularly afford (like 4 figure jewelry or clothes or watches). So of course, they would love those kinds of gifts and wouldnt say no.
If you're at your faves level with enough fame and wealth to never have to worry about money, then it's much easier to just say no.

People can call out a behavior without wanting to crucify or cancel all the idols who do it.

Yeah I think I would give a pass to less known idols or even younger ones, bc teenagers just love attention and things.

I think the issue people have is when these multimillionaires receive a lot of expensive gifts like luxury jewelry, phones, watches, TVs, literal GOLD, and still accept it. It looks especially bad when other idols have made it clear to their fans that they don't want it 
Well not all idols are 'millionaires', maybe 1% are.
Whereas 99% of the idols - if they are not in debt, that itself is a big deal.
Take for example the recent case, where Chuu revealed that she had no income actually paid to her in 2021. Chuu is the most famous of a reasonably known act. If that is her state... then?
Appearances are deceptive - just because they look glamourous wearing costly brands etc., does not mean that they actually own the stuff.
And then the general human instinct is really NOT to refuse anything given as a gift, it is impolite to do so.
But yes, once they have achieved wealth, they can do well to redirect the 'material' love from their fans to good causes or even discourage them.
When many idols have been doing so.
The question should be more to fans, that they let their obsession do such foolish things. But that is not limited to Kpop either.
