That's it really they just deserved better cause they were an amazing group Cube fucked up with them and never knew what they were doing, proving it again and again with the concept switch ups and lack of promos. Their last comeback being funded by Sorn herself was a whole joke, the group and these girls had a LOT of potential.
CLC deserved better.

There's really no reason for their downfall other than their company being shite
They had good music and members that all stood out

My resentment for CLC's mistreatment and disbandment will never end. CUBE fxxking hit the jackpot with all 7 of those girls and yet was stupid enough not to realize it. All of that talent, star quality, and it was left in the dungeon for what? Hell, they actually released really good music in the times when CUBE actually decided to give a fxxk. The fact that they gave up right after CLC's most successful release is the most frustrating thing. These girls deserved the world, they are perfection ❤️

sure they deserved better but hindsight is 20/20
realistically could anything that Cube have done really make that much of a difference
because ultimately we know that
1. not every kpop group is going to succeed
2. at some point there's going to be diminishing returns in that the more moneys spent on a group does not necessarily mean more money returned.
3. sometimes no matter what the group or company does a kpop is just destined to not succeed...

Yeah they could have absolutely done more. Cube not only treated them shitty but didnt know WHAT to do with them either. Like i said in a previous thread, its no coincidence that their best performing groups were the self produced ones. Cube leaves their groups to their fate unless they take the initiative themselves.

interesting
I wasn't around when CLC debuted or were in their prime but realistically could CLC have achieved the same level of recognition as (for example) Gidle?
and what could Cube have done differently?

I'm not sure if they could have had the digital success Gidle has had, that would have partly depended on luck and maybe someone going viral..but for that, they'd need to have promos, and Cube absolutely did below the bare minimum for them. Most of the fans they gained were again, by initiatives they took themselves with uploading covers on youtube and Sorn's own youtube channel. Think of Cube as YG, doing almost nothing while expecting immediate results but the problem is that Cube doesnt have the status YG has or the prestige they had back then. They also fucked up in terms of giving the group a core identity for the looongest time. They kept changing concepts like they're doing with Lightsum to see what'll stick. And they fucked up majorly when they released Hobgoblin, managed to get the group some attention (but not enough for Cube's standards ig) and then next comeback they did a complete 180 and went full cute concept, which made the people who got interested in them drop them again. And that incosistency was present for some time. By the time CLC managed to find something that suit them and worked for them the industry had moved on..their last single before disbandment actually did the best by far across all metrics but it wasnt enough for Cube to keep the group going as the results were still underwhelming objectively. (And like i said in OP, the comeback was even hugely funded by Sorn and not Cube)
I wrote so much wtf

interesting
so they couldn't give CLC as a group some form of identity and (I guess) core sound
they were all over the place and (lost/failed to gain) as much many fans as they may possibly have gotten because of it
I know of some members like sorn and eunbin - did they have any outstanding members (from a GP perspective) (not necessarily an IT girl but someone at least somewhat popular with the GP?) or a songwriter/producer like Soyeon from Gidle?
