Is BTS’s goodwill being misused by Busan capitalists ?

  • For those who are unaware, BTS is about to hold a 1hr+ free concert for 100K audience + live play for 10K audience all in Busan city. Ticketing is still required for the audience to get those tickets via inter park so it’s not show up and get in kinda concert

I don’t even think this was the case in Las Vegas during BTS tour, how is it this bad in Domestic city? They seem to forget the whole event is to show their city in a good light. Clearly they didn’t get the assignment

  • BRIYANI

Changed the title of the thread from “Is BTS’s goodwill being trashed by Busan capitalists ?” to “Is BTS’s goodwill being misused by Busan capitalists ?”.
  • Imagine the chaos if people could just show up, fans would camp in for days to make sure they get in.

  • Lord those hotel owners are so clueless - have they forgotten that they're supposed to be in the HOSPITALITY industry? Instead they are writing a book on the best tactics to lose patrons, make tourism unattractive and sabotage your city's bid to look like a nice, friendly place to hold the World Expo and paint yourself as materialistic and greedy all in one fell swoop. Well done guys!

Exactly clearly the Govt did not brief them or they are ignoring the main goal of the plan. All they are thinking about is filling their pockets, not about the long term benefit.

Using BTS presence in their city to charge atrocious prices, many even cancelled previous booking to charge them at hiked prices. Greediness knows no bounds there

  • does this not happen when bts performs everywhere else?

Prices hiked up alright. But some armys who work in the hotels and resort industry have spoken up that it’s quite unethical to cancel already reserved rooms just to put them back on the market and spike up the prices, which is what is happening right now in Busan.

With the PTD concerts, rooms that were not yet reserved became more expensive but those already booked were not canceled, neither were their prices increased.

  • It’s seems like k-armys are making a list of hotels who did unethical practices , to report them. Man I would keep track of these hotels and never visit them ever

  • Just as our wise Grandmaster Ves said, Busan are shooting themselves in the foot. This concert is supposed to promote the place including their hospitality, resources and capabilities.

Why would anyone choose to have an expo in a place with such overpriced vacancies? It turns tourists off.

I heard the Busan government wants to make a recommendation list but unless they literally convince these greedy hotel managers to look at the bigger price, I doubt it will do anything.

Some nice karmys are already trying to get available hotels in places outside of Busan for Iarmys so that they can rent a transport to take them to the concert. I think I saw a list on twitter. If anyone is interested I hope someone can post it here too

  • Wait people actually voluntarily let themselves get scalped at these prices??? Are these foreigners who are clueless about the prices?

  • And look at this, I can see why k armys are afraid how all the blame will be shifted to the boys if something goes wrong instead of the people who begged the members parents to get them to agree to this deal

  • it's not even a question

how Busan is handling this is quite embarrassing. It's well known that BTS have positive economic effect every city they visit so this is a golden chance for Busan, yet they are shooting themselves in the foot. I'm quite surprised at how incompetent this city is handling this whole incident considering it's a pretty big city in Korea too. And BTS been to many big cities around the world.

    Edit:

What irritate me about this is the potential of blame BTS will get. This city doesn't seem like it has the leadership and wealth to pull of something like this but want quick cash and fame from BTS. I still remember that even the Blue House can't afford BTS's travel expense when they invited them to perform in France so BTS has to foot the bill. So far, leadership at Busan hasn't shown they are capable of any thoughtful planning. From the embarrassing politicians, to the sad site they going to hold the concert at, to the greedy price gouging going around. BTS wanted to help Busan image but I think Busan just exposed itself by showing the world how incapable it is. It trying to swallow more than it can chew.

  • Hopefully, this concert won't turn out to be a nightmare for everyone. Safety of the audience should be the top priority here. Also, all these room prices are insane. Thankfully, I booked a hotel room ahead of time and got it at a reasonable price.
