He started dating Momo and Twice fans didn't like it coz of the age gap. So, people started making videos of all the bad things he has said in the past, so everyone started hating him.

He dated an idol with a fandom who thought she was wlw. I followed the situation on Twitter, and it wasn't just the age gap (she was a working adult when they started dating), Momo's toxic stans were so flabbergasted by their relationship that they couldn't stop dragging him.

Nevermind that literally every female idol in existence has shared how comfortable they are with him, how respectful he is, how safe everyone is around him, how he always makes sure girls are safe, etc. Nope, he was stan twitter's new creep because he dared to date their fav girl.

Which was sad to me, as my two biases were dating and I would have never expected it but they weirdly matched. Would I have wanted he dated someone closer to his age? Yes, probably. But people literally infantilized Momo. Made him out to be a creep. He got p word accusations. People claimed both of them were each other's beards. It was a shit show.

He dated Momo, everything else is just justification. They need to find a reason to hate him.

It always happens though. It happened with Joy and Crush too. Joy also has a huge fandom that thinks or thought she could be a lesbian. She just has a more chill and generally less toxic solo stans so it didn't happen on such a huge scale like it did with Momo + Heechul (what was their ship name, Mochul? Meechul? HOMO?), but Crush still gets hate.

I remember the initial comments being overwhelmingly "wtf he's so ugly" or "he's her beard, there's no way our girl would date this ugly man" on stan twitter where the biggest losers of all fandoms are the loudest and have their toxic minions. But normal folks soon buried their rude comments and are allowing Joy to be happy in her relationship because they understand she's a real person and not the concept they have created in their heads. Crush is cute and sweet, handsome and talented so the hate was so undeserved.
