It's just my opinion. This is what happens when you release too many hit songs with the same formula, same immature sound geared towards teenagers and no wonder any mature sound fails. They just become just another kpop group waiting to get replaced by a new fresh young group It's fine most kpop groups age like milk while a few age like fine wine so this is the fault of their companies who are thinking about their own future and their own ipos or stock price or investors. greed is never a good thing.
So bts made the same mistake as twice releasing too many kidzbop which are popular with gp.

Im not saying they're flops but im ngl their succes is underwhelming
they need this cb to be a hit because other 4th gen ggs are making a lot of noise and they're quickly falling behind

"immature sound"
cheer up got acclaimed by music critics at the time. And grand public is not made of teenagers. So not sure what you meanMaybe upbeat, bright and catchy songs ? (At least that's how we describe Twice typical sound) And maybe more mature & meaningful songs are not for GP, but then the Korean one, because Feel Special was a major hit in Japan (which is a bigger music market, too
)Anyway, the major factor for a song's success is catchiness, not the sound itself.. generally speaking

Releasing gp friendly songs that were massive hits is every act’s dream. Due to those songs, more people were aware of Twice and BTS and they checked out their vast, wonderful discography. Due to the music and the members, currently Twice and BTS have massive loyal fandoms and still growing worldwide.
You still think releasing gp friendly songs are mistakes? I hope you’re not an advisor to any labels because..

BTS received their 6th #1 albums on the Billboard 200. Albums are still selling out.
Let me quote OP: "They just become just another kpop group waiting to get replaced by a new fresh young group."
And now, Let me quote a wise man:
