Could they leave the kpop environment and be independent artists?
Do you think your faves would do better or worse without their label?

worse I believe
Minho and Key have a business bone. They can navigate around doing the extra works themselves and promote themselves.
Lee brothers have no business bone in their body. Their mind set is that they want to focus on the artistic aspects of their work and they really need someone else to do the business portion of the work.
So it will be abit of problem if all of it falls on two member

Like before or after being established?
Like now after groups have received popularity if they leave it might be less of an issue….
but say if the group was established by a different company I don’t think these groups would have received this popularity. The company shaped their music direction and their image which led to their success no two ways about it.

Twice does have a lot of stage charisma for sure!

I'm thinking now that they've been established. Should groups try to strike out on their own when their contract is up? Maybe they wouldn't be as successful, but they could be happier possibly.

yep, absolutely! that's a fact! Hence my approach on it, i strongly suspect that some could successfully make this happen! In fact, i'm more than convinced!

They could still try to hire a management team to guide them, but not control them I suppose.

There are a lot of things a company provides that I don't think we take into account. There are "costs" to doing business that I think many idols don't have the "know how" to be able to handle themselves. Could they learn? Sure, but I'd rather them focus on doing what they enjoy and be able to leave those other aspects to competent people they can trust.

and there are hidden costs as well. Managers knowing producers and so on

but thats basically what SM is to them at this point
Its like they passed all the hard part and its time to rip the benefits
SM has more resources and connections than any management team they can hire and they have butt out the decision making stuff for most parts

Yep!! I don't think we consider these things a lot, but they are very important in business.
