100% agree with Hyoyeon.

Not only is it embedded into SK culture to respect seniority AND hierarchy but many of these new girl groups wouldn’t even exists if it wasn’t for the groundwork and impact set by SNSD and other 2nd gen groups.

A quick bow and greet is the very least they can do as it takes five seconds.

It is even more disrespectful considering the fact that in music shows rookie acts usually perform in the beginning of the show but have to wait until the winner is announced at the end, so they have all the time in the world to go and visit their seniors and greet them.

Aespa absolutely shine when SM let’s them sing live. The recent performance in LA absolutely had many live performances and their vocals were clearly audible. Everything from their harmonies, ad libs and runs to high notes is really nice and Aespa are by far one of the best 4th gen vocal groups. In fact, the only group that comes even close in that aspect is Nmixx.

Giselle, the worst singer of Aespa, is technically better than main vocals in other groups and the great vocals were audible in Choachella but especially in the new showcase.

Also, their performances have been praised lately by both Knetz and people who actually attended the showcase who clearly stated that they sang live and had good stage presence. So if SM let’s them perform live, there is absolutely no problem with any of their performances and they don’t lack behind any other group at all

Well, top Korean alcohol brands pay up to 16.8 million dollars per year to celebrities and chamisul is the biggest Korean alcohol brand. With the exception of Irene, IU had been the main model for chamisul since 2014, so that deal alone is probably worth 100 million dollars at this point. And IU has around 10 CFs!!!

Then dramas. Song hye kyo and Jun Ji hyun earn aroun 170k per episode so around 3.5 million per drama. IU isn’t quite there but probably earns 1.5 million per drama. Movies should be around the same probably.

She surely also charges attendance fees for things like university festival appearance or YouTube channel cameos and stuff like that that are probably quite expensive.

Then the earnings and royalties from her songs and features are probably mind-blowing. And album sales are also a nice garnish.

Her concerts aren’t an outstanding factor like for example TVXQ and obviously were a non factor recently but she still pulls some nice money from it.

But main factor is definitely CF 100%!!!

The thing is many fandoms including blinks are hating the members. That is simply unacceptable! Hate SM for mediaplay all you want but as soon as you hate the members, you are automatically wrong no matter what argument you bring.

I have been a Kpop fan for many years and I have seen and heard many awful Kpop stories. But the hate Aespa has been getting since their debut, but especially in these past few days, has quite literally reached a whole next level.

The shocking thing is how socially excepted and widespread the hate is towards Aespa. I see comments on social media so often hating on them, calling them out, telling lies and twisting narratives with thousand upon thousands of likes and upvotes. Yet praise is almost exclusively limited to their fandom. Other groups and fandoms get hate too, but it’s almost always called out and mostly by crazy delusion fans from other groups that are few and far between.

But the Aespa hate is disturbing because it is both Knetz and Inetz, on almost all platforms and so incredibly widespread. As a fan I don’t even feel anger anymore reading hate comments it has become so normal (and that is just sad).

And now the hate has even reached the girls. SM is historically very conservative about talking about topics like this, so the fact that three of the four girls have publicly spoken about the hate they are getting is shocking to me. I actually fear for their mental health now.

So I’m pleading with the allkpop forum users, if you see any hateful posts targeted to the girls on any social media platform, please take a few minutes out of your day to report these accounts (and maybe even leave a positive comment towards them), because this hate train is unlike anything I have seen before and the fandom is not yet big enough to defend itself fully. If they are using ADs, they should start given some to their other new artists, especially Enhypen, since they could probably use some right now.

Give „butter“ to Oneus, CIX, OnF, Pentagon, SF9 or any other mid tier Kpop boy group and it disappears. Give songs like libido, Luna, Bambi, Fever or Lover Loser to BTS and the song would be even bigger and praised as the greatest songs of all time by armys

Imo Exo love their seniors and juniors and have shown time and time again that they enjoy these concerts and the interactions a lot. So for me supporting these concerts is the same as supporting Exo.
