For westerners like me who hate Trump this is quite bad, but Trump is a quite popular figure in Korea, who was supported by like 90% of Koreans in the election. Many like him in Korea because of his stance towards China and because they think that Biden loves China. China has become extremely unpopular in the last few years, especially after claiming that Kimchi is a Chinese invention.

It’s true tho.
SM are very highly rated by the public but also by critics. Billboard constantly ranks them number 1 for album of the year or song of the year or even album of the decade (pink tape). They have some of the most acclaimed albums with unique sounds (pink tape, 4 walls, red light, exodus, married to the music, purpose, perfect red velvet).
They still experiment with concepts and songs all the time. Their teasers, trailers, their albums covers are all outstanding (just look at Wendy new album special edition album packaging). They are outside the box, often purposely putting out unorthodox songs that are not public friendly but are ahead of their time. Just look at a Simon says by NCT that song was way ahead.
And their artists all are in line with the SM theme but are all unique and outstanding. Just look at Move by Taemin. Do you think anyone at JYP or YG or any company could even remotely compete with that. Or look at someone like BoA or Baekhyun, completely diffrent in sound and concept, yet similar in the perfect execution of their sound. Music wise SM has always been a pioneer but also the golden standard when it comes to quality, both with regular pop but also with more experimental sounds.
