Either way is the type of songs that koreans like BUT they are typical NOT from GGs (usually OST, or some soloists). Tell me which GGs in the past 5 years had a huge hit with ballad.
like someone mentioned few pages back, koreans usually dont listen to slow songs from GGs cause those are more associated as "fans song". They look for bops from GGs
The only GG that constantly hit it big with ballad, correct me if im wrong, is only 2NE1 (Lonely, It hurts, Missing you). They even did well with non-title track ballad - 'If I were you' from their last album peaked at #8 and sold close to a million.
That’s bc you’re looking at things in a vacuum. If ive had released either way instead of, say, after like last year, or i am this year, there’s no doubt it wouldn’t do as well as those songs, and in fact if we look at raw numbers, either way’s performance right now won’t surpass those songs any time soon. But when you factor in this whole cb’s rollout, the promo, the music selection, the mvs, the budget, the type of songs a group like ive released as singles after either way, even historical charting from other groups as reference, it came as no surprise to me that either way ended up doing the best amongst the three singles. Notice i said I wasn’t surprised that either way did the best among those songs, not that either way is a smash hit (despite not being a high energy dance song), bc it’s not a smash hit. It just did the best out of the three.
It’s funny bc i actually predicted this exact scenario in a thread on the very following day after baddie was released lol man kpop companies gotta start paying me soon if they want to see into a crystal ball to gauge their future success bc my prediction streak has been on fire

as someone
who’s been into kpop for quite awhile and seen quite a lot of shit, my prediction is baddie will not ultimately do better than either way, not in korea at least. Will not go too
deep into the reasons but i strongly believe so. Of course there’s always a chance i’ll be wrong, in which case
