i’m not sure you understand what you’re saying bc winning music shows isn’t the metric to measure impact or digital success like you think it is lol. There are a bunch of different music shows with different criteria to win, and physical sales and fan-votes can help plenty when you have a huge fandom. Not to mention a lot of it comes down to luck/timing too. If the competition is weak even a non-hit song can win. There are countless examples of songs in the past that won many music shows but were in no way as big as songs that won fewer, or even none at all. Aepsa’s next level never won a single music show lol

But the new Criteria really boosted New Jeans's chances of winning. If they were really aiming to rob NJs of the win, they could've tweaked the Criteria to favor Album sales and Judge's Vote instead.

Side note: when will people accept that Blackpink wasn't robbed of Daesangs? They didn't lose because they didn't attend award shows. They lost because there were artists who did better than them in those years. Like, BTS didn't attend Mama 2021 and 2022 and they still swept daesangs.
