no, all this could’ve been prevented if they’d just turned up the backtrack like everyone else with a brain did lol. Even bp at coachella used a louder backtrack than almost zero like lesserafim, which just makes source music’s move even more boneheaded. Unless you’re beyonce, having strenuous choreos whilst singing live was just never gonna work out for anyone. Not only lesserafim, but almost every other gg also would not be able to keep up and would have a subpar vocal performance.
But source music subjected themselves to that braindead scenario that every other company knew to avoid. They were so intent on proving a point after the encore debacle, they never took a moment to think what the next best move was. They bought into their own hype and tried to turn these girls in vocal beasts using nothing but the power of friendship, when that’s never been their strength. Should’ve tried to deliver the best experience for the audience with a flawless performance + killer choreo, including a backtrack.
I’m not saying they should lip sync all the way, but contrary to what most kpop stans’ monkey brain tells them, 100% live vocals doesn’t always enhance a performance. You could still have fun and interact with the audience with a backtrack, so long as you don’t entirely rely on pre-recorded vocals. Hybe’s greed isn’t really relevant here; it’s on their stupid management lol. Even a dumbo like me could figure out from a mile away this would turn into a disaster without a backtrack but they were putting their head in the sand and failed to see the obvious
