Saying that NewJeans will be fine without HYBE is delusional. HYBE will try to blacklist them off the face of the earth. The Korean GP hates traitors. They won’t go on music shows. They won’t have Korean concerts. And international fans tend to follow their Korean counterparts.

QWER are doing better than both but I honestly don’t know their limit. Sheesh may get into top 20. It is rising fast after the Inkigayo stage as it should, but how long are they promoting is the question. BM are only doing MCountdown and Inkigayo. KIOF may rise to top 30. KIOF have potential to rise more due to more promotions but BM are getting more buzz. Both groups have a potential for first wins which should help momentum.

At first I thought when BangPD and MHJ split in making the new girl group for Source, it was because they had widely different ideas for a girl group. But I was wrong.

Yes LSF were created but it was a quick rich scheme (a ready for CFs concept+Izone members +throwing BTS’ staff). Gfriend’s disbandment was not planned to go alongside MHJ moving and delaying NewJeans debut so they needed to debut LSF as fast as possible. Their lineup wasn’t even finalized when Ive debuted. Garam’s record went under the radar, and the MV and album packaging were low budget.

However I do remember rumors that the Source group was supposed to be a magical girl concept with music resembling f(x). BangPD watched as NewJeans had more success than LSF so he took his previous ideas he had with MHJ while stealing what she did to make it successful. But he needed the group to be fully controlled by him. And I don’t think Belift had too much involvement. If it wasn’t them it would have been Pledis. But Belift are unoriginal mofos with Enhypen cause Given Taken could have easily been a TXT song but the different concept covered it up. Illit is even more shameless.

BangPD just wanted to prove that HYBE was the reason for NewJeans success and he did by creating his own group by his standards.

Instead of reinvesting all the money Twice made back on Twice and their other groups they pocketed it. In early 2019 after Dalla Dalla and Fancy they were in a really sweet spot. If they only used the money they had on bringing creative talent they wouldn't be in this situation right now.

But now it is a bit too late. Even if JYP starts investing, which they attempted fo do with Nmixx last comeback, it is hard to catch up quickly.

It is funny how some dumb kids on the internet like us predicted this outcome long time ago. Many many times we talked about how stupid it is that JYP has higher profits with lower revenue than other companies. Now it is finally biting them in the ass. You can't play short game.

As for YG, they do everything right, they invest in their groups, their problem is too much reliance on inhouse talent, in case of boy groups on themselves. Like get the damn composers for your groups. Treasure won't produce the level of hits BigBang did, why sabotage your own investment.

Wow I actually agree a bit, but YG doesn’t just have a composing problem. They also have a promotion problem. Believe it or not, if Babymonster just went to music shows, they would have charted similarly to Nmixx in Korea at least. But they didn’t because YG gotta YG. Treasure’s last saving grace was Darari but they didn’t promote it outside of a rock remix no one wanted. Rosé’s solo was the only BP solo with feasible promo. The exclusivity game doesn’t work anymore. Newjeans are the most exclusive HYBE group and even then they go to music shows and appear in other groups’ TikToks. YG groups barely play the promo game. (Not to mention that the read dates for debuts is not on standard Korean release time. You are not Blackpink, debut on 6pm KST on a Monday like everyone else.)

Exactly what BangPD wanted. After MHJ became fully independent with ADOR and seeing NewJeans success, despite the cash flow he was seething deep down. He wanted to create that level of success himself. So he seized the opportunity with RUnext. And with this song he proved that NewJeans are replaceable and only benefitted from the HYBE label.

I remember when OMG released and I was desperate to listen to better remixes lmao. The chorus was just that weird to me at first. I still prefer Ditto. Unforgiven’s chorus is kinda clunky but the rest is very good and has good moments. Only slightly worse than Antifragile, which was the SOTY last year by far. I AM is pop perfection and made me cry, what can I say.
