I don’t normally stan many boy groups but I am stanning them right now! Their content is very funny. They are streaming tomorrow too btw.

A small girl group did that!

God I hope not. I like some of their songs.

Honestly HYBE with 40% of SM is basically Belift, which Enhypen is pretty much treated like a HYBE group in terms of concepts and interactions. Even Pledis, the one subsidiary with the most freedom, had changes to their distribution, touring and Seventeen’s music changed under HYBE. Source Music has been gutted and is essentially BigHit 2.0. LSF staff was from BTS. There are more Gfriend staff in ADOR than Source. SM stans are in for a rude awakening if HYBE acquire SM or even get 40%. Kakao is not great either and I say this as a dive. SM is screwed either way.

As she should for carrying 4th gen for 5 years

No. Before them groups had to build a career for years and now because of them, the group that actually built that career is being dragged along with their payola and faux popularity.
(This was almost a week ago)
Barely 6 months but already more privileged than groups who actually took years to cultivate a fandom for themselves? And their fans swear up and down that this is 100% of their own merit when none of these songs are viral anywhere.
Pink Venom and Shut Down got way more playlisting and yet we’re beaten by NewJeans in the US. And NJs are doing well in Apple Music too. Keep crying.

Well those 3 songs, Dynamite, Butter, and Permission To Dance boosted BTS to legendary status on a global level.
Like yeah the songs was mid to most people, but BTS being nominated for the Grammys three years in a row, and breaking SO MANY RECORDS THAT OTHER KPOP GROUPS AND AMERICAN ARTISTS CAN DREAM OF???...yeah I think those 3 songs deserve their due lol.
Just Dynamite. Butter’s only legacy is having bought number ones and PtD’s legacy is being bad. Butter were only nominated because it was from BTS post Dymamite and was English. BTS should have been nominated years ago.

Well they will dominate, just not in the way you think ahaha
-
omg why does le sserafim come back at the same time as other popular artists
I feel like they will be fine if it’s true that Unforgiven is in March. The English title in April won’t directly compete with other korean cbs.

If the ULs are low it should also help the GG OP mentioned to chart.
They did benefit, just not as well. You need a strong dedicated fandom to stream well on realtime, and girl groups generally don’t have that.

The charts have changed in the fact that Melon’s user base has shrunk, a new exploit, and Armys in Korea are moving to other boy groups.
Melon has a lower userbase now so real-time is more impactful to raise songs. It is also the winter time so there are people streaming less. YT music has taken over and with K-pop’s focus on MVs, they have benefited from this even more.
There is now an exploit which is allowing newer songs to chart higher. If your songs are #1 on the latest hit 1 week and 4 week charts, your song gets prioritized. Boy groups figured it out through Candy’s success and are replicating it to various degrees. They ignore other charts such as Bugs and Genie because of their rule changes and low appeal and aim fully at Melon as the Melon chart is still used in cafes where the GP will listen. Look at TXT’s charting and how lopsided it is. It is a win win for Melon to hold users and for boy groups to increase their ULS. Only groups with big fanbases can do this, so don’t expect Treasure, Ateez, and Enhypen to pull this off. Only groups that can even touch the Top 100 can do this.
Lastly it is Armies moving to other fanbases. Let’s be honest, isn’t it a coincidence that this is happening after BTS’ hiatus. BTS was taking many boy group fans away from other groups, and now that they are not here, they are moving to other groups.

It is just one prediction. The big predictors put that TXT are missing it.

I feel like these groups have a chance at Hot 100.
Stray Kids (they were on bubbling before, and with competition with TXT they probably will push their next cb)
IVE (After Like did so well on US Spotify before)
Le Sserafim (Antifragile was huge internationally)

ITZY should be top 5. They sell more than GIDLE, have better YouTube views, and have similar digitals and spotify streams.
But you shouldn't remove GIDLE. LSF needs to prove themselves with one more comeback imo before they can get put up there. NewJeans is an exception because Hype boy, OMG, Ditto, and Attention are complete smashes.
Fearless literally passed Dalla Dalla’s longevity on Melon. And with Antifragile out performing both of Itzy’s title tracks last year combined on streaming, lol. They already proved that they will be over Itzy unless a miracle happens. And Gidle have more hits than Itzy now and in streaming and digitals last year it wasn’t close lmao. Itzy are living off of legacy alone.
