They really need to have mostly standout members in their groups, artists who can easily drop solo albums and captivate audiences without needing much promo.
As a longtime fan of their groups and artists, I noticed they used to be amazing at developing their young talent and generating buzz about them even before debut.
GD, Jennie, and even Bang Yedam are just a few examples. Jennie got gifts from fans while she was still a trainee.
Out of all companies in the industry, they were particularly good at this, and I don't think that's a point that's spoken about enough. Maybe the company just operates more in secrecy these days in regards to their trainees, but I don't think any of the BABYMONSTER members have that kind of superstar reputation just yet. That group is going to have to work a lot harder upon debut and even after debut than any of their predecessors. I'm really rooting for them.
Star power was what they always relied on in the past, and I'm afraid they don't have this anymore.
They need to focus on small groups with all-rounder members, the way they used to. Specifically five or fewer members. Whenever they debut these bigger groups, things go in disarray the moment a standout member leaves. Think of iKON after B.I. or Treasure after Bang Yedam left.
