Were there no bodyguards? I don't see any in that short clip, but she wasn't being surrounded by fans so they didn't need to be beside her at that moment.

Came across an interesting video that mentions that due to the nature of Korean music companies there is significant distortion in the public media when discussing kpop artists due to investors attempting to increase the value of their investments (or in some cases decrease the value of a competitor), rather than fans.
I'm sure that's the case. The only question is to what extent are investors doing this, relative to true fans? If they have a lot of money invested they would probably be willing to spend on bot farms, and other related things.
Recent events have shown that kpop stock prices can fluctuate predictably based only on rumours, so I would not be surprised if many people are trying to abuse this by planting false rumours (both positive and negative), and bulk-buying to inflate sales numbers. (how many of these Chinese bulk-buying groups are actually run by active investors?)
This would generally be illegal, but it's very hard to prove and I have heard of no one convicted for it.

Entirely predictable after the lineup was announced. The fame of the contestants keeps decreasing with each new show.
They needed more famous participants with preexisting relationships to create tensions/interactions that would offer something interesting that could only be seen on the show and in the group.
Without that they should have just scrapped the idea.

Maybe she had a hard time dealing with the internet backlash from her recent scandal so she's taking a mental health break, like Lia.
The PS explanation also makes sense. 3 months is not unusual for recovery time. They probably expected it to take less time but a complication happened that extended the recovery time.

In twice, literally none of them had solos in their first contract lol. I think second contract will give her more solos, or maybe I'm being too positive
Getting more solos into the contract should be easy for them. It's one of the simplest things for YGE to offer.

We are talking about ONE song in seven years. Not 5, ONE. I'm sad for blinks but if i were her I'd sign contract with someone else, someone who will give me opportunity to showcase myself as an artist. There's no excuses for giving jenny only one song. Again, ONE!
Just add X solo songs/albums in X years into the contract. It's very common for music contracts. Jennie signed the original contract to be a member of BP, not a soloist.

they just dont want to be a group anymore, they are so huge they could pull off leaving together with their brand rights and continuing as a group even on different companies but they just dont want to.
YGE's under no obligation to sell the BP IP for any amount of money. It doesn't matter how "huge" the girls are.

More comebacks is something that YGE could easily provide (hire more staff/producers if necessary). YGE hasn't in the past, but I'm sure they would if Jennie made that a condition for resigning.

The girls could probably go to almost any of the big international music companies. The companies may be willing to spend huge amounts of money to sign the girls, but there is one thing they definitely cannot give them: use of the "Blackpink" brand/IP, including everything associated with it, like their lightstick design.
The girls are individually big, but Blackpink is bigger, so losing the ability to use the brand would hurt.
My opinion: there is nothing that even UMG, or a similar company, can offer (that YGE can't) that could compensate for the loss of the use of Blackpink IP, even if they had no interest in working as part of the group and went 100% solo. The only exception would be if they (Jisoo) left the music industry entirely to pursue other things (acting), but even in that case the brand would still be valuable.
Of course, they could dislike working in YGE so much that they leave anyway, or work out a contract with YGE that allows them to use the IP, but YGE could charge a ton of money for that if they are willing to let the new company use the IP at all.

the girl are under a 360 contract
The "360 deal" is a thing in the West because artists traditionally have their label only cover certain things related to promotion and distribution. It implies a certain level of independence and creative freedom for the artists.
For kpop groups, "360 deal" is an understatement. The companies own the group IP, have complete creative control over the group, and take a cut of everything. Group members are one step away from being employees of their companies.

Gina dropped a song. The lyricism is lacking, but she sounds great!

Blacklabel really need to have her comeback sooner this time.
Exactly. A single, or an acting gig, before the end of the year would be good. Something. And continue with hosting her variety Yes Or Hot.

Teddy and other TBL producers are just taking part in the show, and probably producing a couple songs for their debut. TBL is expanding, so they could easily manage at least one of the BP girls' solo careers. They recently signed a couple of big actors, so maybe Jisoo?
Tbh, I am surprised they are involved in the show. Very strange for Teddy to be so public, and TBL is working on their own in-house group.
