in terms of music quality, self producing groups are on the same level as most non producing groups. And there is a valid argument to be made about there being a deeper connection to the artist with self producing songs that i sometimes enjoy but for me most of the time, im not listening to music to connect deeply with something, it more just for the good vibes. So I don't mind either way usually. Although this is probably a reason why i don't enjoy songs like NXDE for just listening. Like I love the artistry that went behind it and Soyeon's amazing message and I think it shows who (G)I-dle is very well, but when it comes down to just listening, im not really interested in all of that, just how good the song is

I think to some extent. I think most groups are at least naturally affectionate to some degree but they definitley exaggerate some of it for the fanservice

They won Favorite New Artist at MAMA along with IVE and LSFM, and New Jean's didn't. New Jeans unfortunately did not win a single award despite their amazing debut and even attending MAMA on both days. A lot of people found that weird since NMIXX and Kep1er were not as successful digitally or impactfully in SK.
Of course they shouldn't be dragged, but if this was early 3rd gen, there would been so many threads on these forums dragging them because of fans being mad. Thankfully that wasn't the case on AKP.

I've noticed that bg stans are more likely to call their idols by their e names than gg stans. I do it too unconciously. Like when I used to stan stray kids i would call them by their real names too even though I barely do it for ggs. Its a weird phenomenon

I don't really understand a lot about awards shows tbh, I'm just here for the performances but obvously (G)I-dle seemed pretty mad about getting a made up award and it feels like they would have rather not had one at all. And i don't think MAMA was under any obligation to make one up for them right? So why do it? This whole situation doesn't make any sense to me
