I think OP underestimates Weeekly's duality :

Since their debut in June 2020, Weeekly has sold 79,000+ albums.
We Play, their latest March comeback, sold 31000+ and is still selling well in the Top 10 of Girl Groups Daily Chart, and it just sold another 1192 copies on April 24. So there's still lots of life left in their current album run.
But I agree After School deserves a better charting.

I admire Weeekly's work ethic and hustle.
It is one thing for the management to plan a promotional schedule, it is another thing for the artist to have the energy and stamina to follow through on the schedule. Weeekly's promotional schedule is incredibly punishing and rigorous. Good luck to any idol trying to keep up with their schedule!

Did OP not see these dance medleys?
Daileee (Weeekly fans) knew this since last year...

Weeekly's Zoa, wearing light blue shirt, is on the left of Astro's MJ who is reportedly 175cm. Monday, in red, is on his right, slightly behind him.
Zoa was measured in her socks at 0.2 cm less than 173cm Monday in Oct 2020 on Fanvatar. She's only 15 and still growing!
I secretly think Zoa may be taller than 173 cm now, going by the current video evidence...

I think for the first time, the non-big 3/Hybe rookie girl groups that came out 2020/2021 look really professional and exciting. They don't look like rookies at all and they don't look like small agency groups. Their training, polish and talent can challenge any big 4 group and the quality and production values of their songs/MVs look so expensive and high class.

To be fair, Zoa does not look 15 yrs old.
Doesn't help that she's a 172+ cm Amazon.

Lee Soojin looks cute and soft but she has a lot of snap and power to her moves yet is also graceful. Nice combination.

Funny that OP said Soeun resembles Seulgi :

After School really was a game changer for Weeekly.

Could this be the first instance of a Kpop group achieving a breakthrough in their career based on their power on Spotify?
Usually it's either Domestic Korean success---> International attention or like BTS : Massive International Success---> Domestic attention.
Weeekly seem to be doing a simultaneous conquest of both domestic and overseas front via Spotify. See this :

After school is just a good song and the mv perfectly captures the members’ charms with a concept which is rarer nowadays and not every group can believably pull off. It’s not a surprise they’re blowing up
They also have many casual listeners and many og pop fans stan them
Their songs slap!
All of the above.
Another out-of-left-field reason could be that the huge fanwar between Weeekly and Secret Number fans over 2020 ROTY put Weeekly on the radar of many Indonesian Kpop fans. They watched After School to scope out the competition to SN and were converted(despite themselves) to become Weeekly fans due to Weeekly's undeniable talent and visuals.
