well to be honest i was thinking of Soyeon and Winter
and even while not being bias, i remember that Soyeon already debuted in Solo and all her solo song flopped in korea

she is not even the most popular member, she's been consistently getting like the lowest fancam views this era
kpop fans love hyping her up & her talent but when it's time to support her it's crickets

i think IVE's Yujin could have a big chance too, depends of the song, if Liz become popular enough she could be pretty big too since her voice tone is the type Korea likes.
Winter, Karina (surprised nobody mentioned her), i'm curious to see how Miyeon does solo since she could have a big chance too, Yena (not sure if it counts since she's already solo)
I think is to early to speak about Nmixx or Lesserafim but Yunjin does have a amazing voice based on pd48
At the end of the day, nobody knows, songs would play a big part too and marketing too.

too be honest she's really talented,
but i think not many people seem to really care about her as a person
i never see people hyping her, her activities etc..., the only moment i see someone hyping her is when they do comment like " you're calling this a rapper when she's not even at the level of soyeon"

she's not a visual
she could be the most talented person in the entire universe (and let's face it she's up there in K-Pop), fans would still pay her dust.
that said she'll have a long career if she wants to, her producing skills alone guarantee it.
in terms of solo potential, I agree with Winter, maybe Sullyoon in the future? basically visuals that can sing. Otherwise you'd have to be like Chungha and come out with a strong artistic identity from the start, I think Yena can do that if she keeps delivering bops. She's kind of branded herself this bubblegum pop singer, there's nobody else doing that right now. You need to stand out.

This isn't that fair of a comparison comparing her solo pre-idle
Like if any of the 4th Gen idols that were mentioned were to debut solo before they are put into the groups that they are now, they would flop even harder.
-
Yena (not sure if it counts since she's already solo)
Yena yes can count too, her solo debut did well in the chart
we just need to see if it's because of the after-izone hype or the public is truly liking her as a soloist
Miyeon is a wild card
i never see tons of praise for her skills on korea community or articles about her
but her popularity grow exponentially in 2021 thanks to her, showing another side of her personnality to the public thanks to her radio show, and going into acting

I'm not coparing only her pre-idle stuff, i'm making my judgement on her entire solo career
Soyeon debuted pre-idle thanks to produce 48 hype
and she then debut in solo after she debuted in I-dle with Beam beam
I guess even her solo stuff weren't outstanding for you if you already forgot Beam beam when it was release just 6 months ago

She had a solo even after debut last year didn't she? Some beam song

She did , even Youngji made a cameo on her MV, and she appear on Sketchbook
people already forgot her solo stuff when it was just few months ago '-'

Imo she lacks the power to attract mass audience. Also beam song was not really stand out material.

and i disagree about having to be a visual to be a popular soloist
Heize is a really popular soloist but she's not the type of visual koreans are going crazy about it
Jessi is also popular but she's not the visual type of koreans
you mostly need a viral songs or be recognize for your vocal skills for years like gummy for example

tbh if i had to describe soyeon to me i would describe her as " an artist that you really respect but get a really hard time to feel a connexion to her "
she's really talented, great performer, good producer, very skills
but when i saw her perform i'm truly impress and really respect her works, but she doesn't want me to learn more about her
even among neverland, soyeon is the one who is the most expose, but it seems that most of them are pro-yuqi or pro-Miyeon
i saw more hype around Yuqi debut with "Bonnie & clyde" than i saw around soyeon "beam beam"
