the chorus of "twenty-three" is literally "a bear pretending to be a fox pretending to be a bear" in response to netizen accusations that IU was a sly fox (hiding behind being an innocent/pure girl).
none of the other examples in this thread even come close. bragging to haters who called you a failure when you're now wildly successful is not at all the same thing as owning a bad reputation.

After the hiatus in 2017 and the switch from AIIYL (which was an upbeat, poppy song) to a darker, trap song like D4 was the beginning of BP’s reputation era.
Their reputation era was really HYLT. After the scandals the girls had faced in 2018-2019, the multiple hate trains, slvt shaming, and the year long hiatus, they bounced back on the scene with a song dedicated to all their haters and to all the people who thought they were done for.

Am I the only one who doesnt enjoy shade songs much? Hearing some personal beef from people all oit in public honestly seems a bit boring, cus it doesnt have much to do with me.
