Sadly I've lost both my parents, but my mother and I were the closest and her passing has left such a void in my life.

my grandmother and my siblings and my mother
sadly my father is way too distant emotionally it is weird to try talking to him even after all those years

I have no idea what I would do without my mom or dad, they're the most fundamental people in my life and I'm sure the passing of yours left a big impact. But, while your parents passing, and especially your mother's, may be sad, there are plenty of positives to your story. You got to enjoy and expierence life with them, and I'm sure they loved you just as you loved them. As their child, you can cherish and hold on to those moments you had with them, since all loving parents do the same for their children
In my opinion, just by remembering one's parents and following their guidance, we can already help them live on and carry a piece of them with us until our very own time arrives
I don't know if you believe in spiritual things or in the afterlife, but if heaven or something similar really does exist, I'm sure they're watching after you
I'm sorry if this is lengthy, I just have a lot of feelings

Yes, they were wonderful parents and gave me the best life I could ever wish for. Even though my father worked away when I was growing up and I didn't see him much, I still loved him and he did so much for me and was a great provider. He passed away the christmas before last so it is still fresh whereas my mother has been gone for 12 years. I miss them every single day and I'm sure they'd both be proud of me and my daughter who is now a grown woman. I do believe they are watching over us and protecting us from harm. My daughter was close to them too. At least they are reunited now.
