Hello! A long time ago, I used to hear this phrase on K-Pop YouTube a lot. I don't hear it as much as I used to, sadly.
"You don't choose your bias, your bias chooses you."
In case that sounds confusing, or you don't see how that could be true, let me provide some examples. I forget who, but there was this one animated, K-Pop YouTube who stanned Got7 (forget the channel name, let me know if you know who I'm talking about). He was BamBam biased. One day, he made a fanart of him and posted it online. BamBam himself found it and tweeted about how awesome it was and he loved it or something like that, which obviously put this YouTuber on top of the moon for a while.
As for myself, I am Chan biased (obviously). One of my favorite things he has said is: "Whether I'm your bias or not, as long as you stan Stray Kids, you'll be my bias," or something like that. To me, that solidified the phrase as true, at least a part of the time. Now it's your turn: do you agree with the phrase or not? To what extent? Can you think of any other examples of this phrase being true, whether it happened to you or someone else? Have a great day/night!
Edit: I just realized I was an idiot and should have added a poll for those that want to vote as well. Please forgive me, it's here now.
Edit Two: To be perfectly clear, the phrase ("You don't choose your bias, your bias chooses you.") basically means that your bias loves you, as an individual person, just as much as you love them. A lot of people choose a bias based on their personality, talent or looks or something like that. The phrase means that your bias does the same thing, but towards you as well. Most of us have favorite members, so a part of the logic is that they have "favorite fans", whether they say it or not. I hope that made sense and cleared some things up. Not trying to make you choose a certain side, just explain it better. Have a great day/night!
