Op on pann says she has an 8 billion won lawsuit dept she has to pay. Lots of people blame the boyfriend for it.
“Fraudulent gambling is not just a movie story. Amid the recent rise of problems in the entertainment industry due to violations of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, American and Korean businessman Tyler Kwon, who is known to be the fiancee of former Girls' Generation member Jessica, took a bankrupt check from Merrill Lynch, New York, USA, worth about 600 million won in Korean (~493K USD) money. He borrowed gambling money from Wynn Las Vegas, and the Nevada state requested the Las Vegas judicial authorities to issue a warrant.”
Dang. Gambling is such a sad addiction.

But if the BF/fiance took it, why does it fall on her?
Lee Soo Man is looking like a genius.

It has something to do with the lawsuit. Jessica brand got the lawsuit I think for unpaid dept she borrowed? Kwon was somehow part of it too but I don’t remember the details. I remember him claiming about the debt being a corporate one and not a personal but they charged her not the company? I’m not smart enough for these things so I skipped over the news. Lol
Here is the news I found;

Oof, thanks for finding that. So I guess she is participating, even though I thought I saw someone say it was false. Corporate debts though never fell on individuals as far as I knew, but I'm no lawyer.

That’s what I was thinking too. Plus it’s like… he is her CEO but also fiancée, she opened the company and he is an investor but he took a dept in the name of her company…..why would she get charged for that? That’s what I couldn’t understand and I just left it at this: the guy is a trash.
I don’t know. I wouldn’t be strong enough to do it. To be able to stand in front of camera after knowing that the public knows all of this.

she is not being sued tyler is. It even clearly states it in the link you posted...
Therefore it sued the investor Tyler Y Kwon, who is also the Chairman and CEO of the brand company Coridel, to recover US$6.8 million of principal and interest.
damn

maybe if Tyler is her financee then maybe (again just speculating) that she might have either co-signed for the loan for him or gone as guarantor??? obviously those things are contractual and we will probably never know...

Yea, you technically don't even need to be related or connected in any way for that, so it's a distinct possibility

Doesn't that depend on what type of organization the company is? Like if it's an LLC or a Corporation?
business is failing so the company is filing bankruptcy
Ah, ok. Cool.
after reading further jessica doesnt actually own the company its under his name
true but often than not unless a company or person has some established credit line or pretty well know (your fortune 500 companies and whatnot) a lender will usually require guarantees or co-sign or some other assurance for that smaller business/company
and I've heard stories (at least in Australia) where husbands (always the dudes) pressure the wife into signing their family home as collateral for business loans and such

The company website says she is the founder and creative director.

yea but she doesnt actually "own" the company
This project drew attention from the media when Jessica, a former member of Girls' Generation, appeared. However, Jessica wasn't the CEO of this business, she was just a well-known face-to-face.
In fact, if we check the registered copy of this company, the real buyer is Jessica's fiancee, Mr. Kwon, who established Blanc & Eclair through Coridel Capital Partners, and with the effect of featuring Jessica as the chief designer, about 600 from Hong Kong investors.

Omg. That’s such a scam for people. Lol It’s literally says on sites that she is the founder and CEO. I mean sites like the Blanc&Eclair site, LinkedIn. Nice way to mislead people who interested in the name of her.
"
Tyler Kwon also clarified, “This is not Jessica’s personal debt, but a loan made to the corporation [BLANC & ECLARE].” Referring to misleading reports that suggested the loan had been made to Jessica as an individual, he added, “Her character has been defamed.”
According to Tyler Kwon, BLANC & ECLARE initially borrowed $4 million from Spectra SPC, and Spectra SPC transferred that loan to Joy King Enterprises in August. Within one month of the transfer, Joy King Enterprises suddenly demanded that BLANC & ECLARE repay $6.5 million, a figure that includes interest on the loan, in just two weeks."
