might be able to if she sing the right song on a popular TV show.

Can she? Yes.
Will she? Nobody knows.
Having a good voice alone isn't enough. On the contrary many of the biggest female soloists in kpop aren't actually great singers, they have something the public really likes such as personality, catchy/trendy song or hype.

She could. She's already off to a great start. I think Red Velvet's solos so far have done better than most of SNSD's did (barring Taeyeon of course).

200k is amazing for a first female soloist solo album and contrary to waht a lot think, Like Water is a great album who represents her well. She said herself that she wanted an album who is like her. I am not against her exploring new genres and everything and I understand that Like Water is not everyone cup of tea but I am a bit tired to read that she needs to release more upbeat songs just for the sake of charting.

She is definitely talented enough but is she popular with the korean gp? As long long as rv is active she will do fine but if she wants success in the long term she needs solo projects to increase her standing and reputation among the gp
I think that's been steadily increasing since she came back from her long rest after her serious injury and recovery from it.
Of course she had her solo debut last year. But she also became radio host, a fixed cast member in SNL's last season in South Korea, and she went viral a couple of times like with her sublime performances end of last year.
Looks like she's had a lot of time to think during her recovery: when she came back, she rose like a phoenix. Energetic, excited, driven, and fully confident and her charisma and presence has exploded, both on stage as off stage. And more and more people are starting to notice it, Koreans and international K-pop fans alike.
