What does it mean to you to "stan" a group?

For me to anticipate things they haven't done yet

Once I'm excited for albums that are not out yet, then I'm stanning that artist

Groups that give you enough satisfaction for you to stan / follow them closely

Being a fan of their music and being loyal for comebacks.

Support for the group in good times and bad.

I think we've come pretty far these days from its original meaning. Based on context, it seems like people range from "the label I give for the group whose music I like the most" to "It's not stanning if I don't closely follow all the group's activities and buy the things they promote."

There's no right or wrong here. I'm not looking to start arguments about the technically correct definition. I'm just curious what you, as an individual, mean when you say you stan a group.
