IVE and Yena debut songs are neck to neck on the charts right now and I knew that IVE had many record breaking feat with their debut but only saw Yena with a few win (huge for a solo after Produce tbh even Chungha and Somi didnt place that high). What did Yena and her company do right that previous post-Produce solo did not do? 
Would EVERGLOW finally rise out of nuguland in Korea if perhaps Yena join them instead?

Yena was everywhere in Korean entertainment, she did multiple varieties and at least one Kdrama that i know of, plus she had her own YT show. She reached beyond Wizones, even beyond the Kpop fanbase. Somi did that as well, Dumb Dumb did just as well as Smiley.
The most interesting thing is that Yena was only mid or even low tier amongst Izone fandom iirc. Wizones are like 75 percent dudes, however i saw a chart that showed that Yena's album buyers were only 45 percent male, she successfully managed to diversify her fanbase.

Exactly this. I love Everglow and Yena (and didn't care about IZ*ONE at all), but I think Yena wouldn't have shined as brightly with Everglow's concept and I likely would have disliked her being shoved into an established group.
For as much as people seem to equate "not the absolute best seller" with "complete nugu" Everglow is established enough that messing with the members wouldn't go unnoticed.

Also people haven't rlly realized which company Yena's in which is prob for the better.....
