the girls are talented and all really pretty, even if their music is not my cup of tea, they have all it needs to be a top girl group
and they came out from a nugu company, they only had BEP to back them up but still they can have hit or miss like all producers

I think a gg needs korea first to be considered top group, and stayc are loved there and their sales are rising too

You know that eleven is pretty much turning out to be the biggest song in sk only behind next level from a 4th gen group? Only problem is the gaon points are less but charting wise it's doing amazing. So stable. Asap is mid level song. Maybe run2u will get there too. It's rising. Currently ive is bigger in sk. Now if they flop next comeback obviously they aren't. Also i wont deny wonyoung being the most popular 4th gen gg member in sk helps.

Display MoreNo. Probably not. The reality is they have probably 2 decent sized hits in Korea if this new one stays stable and that's pretty much where it ends.
The rest of the table they perform on the mid to even lower end. They don't have a single MV over 60m views even when some songs are over a year old. They have...okay ML's on Spotify but overall perform kinda badly there compared to 4th gen counterparts like Aespa, Itzy, Ive and even somewhat Kep1er look like they could do well on that front too following Wadada.
They also aren't doing well in Japan, SEA or China either when true 'top' 4th gen GG's are doing at least somewhat well in some of those regions.
As far as I know though their current Hanteo is around 180k ish for the new album right? So it's seemingly a big step up over Stereotype already and will in all likely hood approach 230-250 thousand on Gaon which is really good.
But numbers don't really lie and comparatively they aren't performing like a top GG in any area and have an overall baseline performance below what is expected of top 4th gen groups.
I wouldn't consider mv views a metric for being a top group, many top artists do not have great mv views
StayC can still have time to be more popular internationally but in Korea they are loved and the gp is checking their songs.

4th gen is more saturated than 3rd gen or at least right now. Before you could call mmm or gfriend top groups without great sales compared to big3 groups because they were charting really well and they were really popular in korea, is stayc at that point?
This will be 4th gen gg competition for the top positions as far as we know now:
aespa, itzy, nmixx, ive, kep1er, iland (hybe), izone-sakura, ador, ygngg
Note: i think some of those groups will be left a bit behind, it's gonna be hard for 9 groups keep up with each other in the long run
Yup, they are def up there along with IVE and Aespa in terms of korean charting. And they sell good, esp for a non big 3 GG. Run2U is shaping up to be a hit so their popularity in Korea is only going to rise.
For international charting, they don't have a single foreign member, not from big 3 or survival show so of course, they will do comparatively worse than their peers. But its not like they are flopping. They are about to hit 3M MLs on Spotify and have good enough streams for their title tracks and YT views aren't bad too.
