Yo! It's Friday! What you guys doing this weekend!?

  • At least, it's Friday for me! As soon as I am off work, I am racing home.

My weekend plans: Saturday, my boyfriend is taking me to the Santa Monica Pier because I have never been even though I live like 10 minutes away. :pepe-hehe:

And, I hope he feeds me good food. :pepestare: If not, I'll just buy myself something tasty on Sunday. Pizza, sushi, or a Jersey Mike's Sub? Haven't decided yet.

Sunday, I am probably going to go grocery shopping like I do every Sunday and chill and watch anime. What about you guys? What's your weekend looking like? *is bored so making random threads that may flop.*

  • in Greece, where I live,we are celebrating “αποκριες” (carnival, there is no other way to translate it) and on Monday there is a public holiday “Καθαρά Δευτέρα” (Green Monday)

so there is no school or work then!

Wow, that sounds cool! I had a trip to Athens a few years ago, and Greek food...

Is the Greek carnival anything like Brazil's carnivale? What do you guys do?

  • Now that you mention it,I could get some sandwich cookies :claps: make some coffee along with it and I'm good to go

You have a social life though huh...whatta strange concept

Oooo, some sandwich cookies do sound good. :pepelove2: *I think I am just really hungry since it's lunch time. ^^ *

And, I only have a social live like once week lmao. The bare minimum where he won't leave me. :pepe-hehe:

  • tomorrow im gonna have a volleyball match in the morning and later I’m gonna have dinner with my family at a fancy Italian restaurant nearby.

sunday is going to be my relaxation day,I’m just gonna play video games and eat

Beach volleyball or regular volleyball? That's the important question. :pepe-notes:

well, traditions variate from place to place but the main thing that happens is taht all the children dress up in costumes just like in Halloween.the traditional meaning of apokries though is

“Greek Carnival or Apokries is a family celebration with street parties, parades, and masquerades. Carnival ( from Latin: carne and vale = goodbye to meat) marks the days before the fasting begins. The word Apokries in Greek comes from the words apochi and kreas (abstinence + meat) so, it means avoiding meat.

The Greek Carnival is divided into 3 weeks, all preparing for the fasting. The first week opens the carnival and starts with a specific church celebration. The second week is called Kreatini in which one is allowed to eat meat every day.”

    hard to explain 😓

Oh wow! I had no idea that it had anything to do with fasting lmao.

But, I guess it makes sense since I think Mardi Gras follows the same kind of tradition. Crazy to think something so similar was developed all over the world, but guess that makes sense too since I think all are rooted in Catholicism.

  • we have an inspection for the new buyers of our house on sunday, so we have to clean, a bit of packing, preparing for a yard sale 'cause we are moving, having moving people coming left and right for quotes 'cause packing a 2 story house is a freakin nightmare. stress, more stress, and more stress. lol

    Ugh, I HATE moving.

I remember when I still lived at home, me, my mom, and my brother moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house, and we had to wait till the very last minute to pack. Like the day before the lease was up last minute lmao.

We started early in the morning and went WAY into the night and still didn't finish. Then it started raining and was cold as we got to our new house, but it was so late that we did not have time to set up the beds. We slept on the floor lmao. :clown:

god i hate it too only because i grew up as a military brat, my father was in the army we moved so much but the army moved us so we didn't have to pack nothing, when we moved from tucson to las vegas we moved ourselves with a uhaul freakin nightmare, lol now we are moving from las vegas to salem, oregon and i'm like i do not have hte freakin energy to lift a bunch of shit and pack like no please hire someone, either way we are getting a moving company or hiring people to help us load either a truck or those pods, but sounds possible that we found a moving company for a good deal. just ugh nightmare, the new house is all one floor though, thankfully, it's bigger and has a basement but the basement is for my brother when he moves in, as he's going to live with us for a bit to get back on his feet after some medical issues happened. and i hate vegas so i'm going with them lol. but yeah moving is fun, but the packing and unpacking part is not lol
