Would you consider a group that is a part of a company's sub label to be a part of the company?

Are they in the same building? Then sure I guess.
Like I find it really funny that they cover up the Starship logo in the dance practice room when Wonho does his dance practices instead of just filming from a different wall.

Woollim hasn't been under SM for some time now, SM C&C (Culture & Contents) owns like 20% of the company but the other 80% is owned by the CEO himself who is the one taking decisions there. For SM to actually own them they would have to be the one with the most shares. That's why it's not the same case as Mystic Story for example which is even under SM Studios.

They still used to be though, I doubt people called Infinite an Sm group in 2013

Yeah well it depends on a lot of factors, I think you could say they technically were under SM, but when a group is trained, have been for years under a company and were already successfull people won't usually "connect them" to a bigger fish at first, it's like Seventeen's case, sure they are technically under HYBE too, but people so far will always connect them to Pledis since they are the ones who have managed them (and still do) since the start. Billlie is technically under SM since debut so people who know will also make that connection but Mystic Story is the main player under them, so you could say Billlie are like counsins of other SM groups on business terms lol, they get some SM money (and make some as well), but they are mainly managed by Mystic Story.

Yes. All of BigHit’s, Pledis’, Belift’s, Source Music’ (and etc) groups are managed by their own respective companies, however, they all would be considered “HYBE” groups.
From what I observed, HYBE Label often markets or tends to lean towards that “family” agenda— considering they did have New Year’s Eve live twice with all their acts under the label for the past two years. Not to mention that all of their managements share the same building.
Out of all the entertainment companies under HYBE, they have the most shares within Pledis; 85%, which is their biggest acquisition I believe, so their involvement and input on Seventeen’s activities is quite monumental considering the shares. In essence, yes, they are managed by Pledis, but they would still be considered a HYBE Label’s group (with the way the label is marketing themselves as well).
